well, Leane won't sleep unless she's swaddled so tight she can't move. She ends up pulling her soother out of her mouth or "eats" her hands.
I'm just having visions of having to swaddle a 6 year old....is she going to outgrow this, or are her hands always going to wake her up?
I've tried unwraping her once she's asleep, and she wakes up in minutes..

She'll outgrow it, believe me! My oldest son was exactly the same way, and he's 6 years old now, and trying to keep blankets on him while he's sleeping in a minor miracle!

whew, that's nice to hear!!!! about how old was he when he outgrew it?
Leane's so big now, that the largest blanket we have barely fits sround her, and we have to wrap this strechy one over her, too for double reinforcement!!! (she's one strong little girl!).....it feels like we're wrapping her in a straight jacket :(
i thought that they stopped wanting to be swaddled by the time that they're 3 months old.....she's almost 6months!

If I remember correctly, I think he was around 6 or 7 months old when he finally decided he had had enough! He just loved being swaddled!

Oh and we had to do the stretchy blanket thing too because he was so big and those regular blankets were just too tiny!

lol, it's nice to know that Leane's not the only straight jacket baby out there!
Hopefully she'll follow suit and stop this soon.....those 2 blankets aren't going to last much longer....

Too funny! And hey, thanks for the memory. I had nearly forgotten about my oldest doing that until I read your post, then I was like wow, I remember him doing the same exact thing! :D

We have a song we used when we wrapped Jim... Ahem....

    El Burrito is his name!
Hungriest baby is his claim to fame.
No cheese or sour cream on him.
Coz he is a vegan burrito Jim!

DD1 liked to be swaddled until she was about a year old. She will still wrap the blankets tight around her. DD2 has always been hot-natured, and has never liked sleeping with blankets. I guess we only swaddled her for a month or two. She was born in November and as soon as it started warming up, that was the end of that.

My son loved being swaddled until he started walking... at about 11 months. DD hated it. She's never wanted ANYTHING holding her tight unless it's mamas arms!

Jazzmama, my husband used to call DS his little burrito boy too!
    love,
    mom

If she wants it, and it won't hurt her, she needs it, so do it. Basically, the end all and be all of Attachment. :)

Eventually she'll outgrow the swaddling, but if she likes it, go ahead. :)

We used to call Sunshine "Burrito Supreme." Because she used to sleep on the floor for her nap, wrapped in her baby sleeping bag. How funny that other people call thier baby Burritos, too.
