    In Brazil the minimum is R$12,50 - U$1,00 = R$2,11

The problem with raising minimum wage is that the price of everything else goes up as well, which puts everyone making mediocre wage goes to the poor house.

I honestly have no idea what it is here, but I do know with the cost of living the way it is these days, it can't be nearly enough for people to live on.

Inflation happens with or without minimum wage changes. They tried not changing it here for a long time, finally realized that the prices of things go up regardless of what min wage is. Now they're trying to readjust in our area to make it an actual living wage

Where did you get that idea?

At this very moment 4.80 pounds is worth US $8.42. That is the minimum wage in the UK, although I heard they were going to raise it to around 6 pounds which would put it over US $10.00.

Even Findland's 5.39 euros (equals $US 6.57) minimum is higher!

America becomes more of a third world country with third world wages every fucking day. The US is NOT the greatest country on earth, in fact it's fallin' fast.

Do YOU know when the minimum wage was last raised in the USA? Look it up! You'll be amazed.

Sorry I looked up Euros...I didn't look at the little "L" sign...my mistake.

The minimum wage in the US is controlled by the state governments. The last time in Michigan the minimum wage was raised, was 1997.

I was wondering about that too. But then you can't just look at wages alone, everything there costs more too. I do agree the US is looking kinda fucked right now though.

I definitely think that California should be much higher than $6.75 since it is so incredibly expensive to live here.

I really dont know how anyone can make it on min wage. I really dont, its so unfair.

I make good money (20 plus) but obviously I dont know how to manage it very well cause im always broke.
