Hey let me find out exactly how you all feel about this man the legend. One of the greatest guitarists of all time. Died September 1970 age 27 considered still to be the greatest guitarist of all time even better than Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton and so on. I just want to know how you all feel about him stoned or not I love his Berkley dvd high its so incredible especially voodoo child (extended version). -love the sky billy_bong i love the air you breath my baby the sweet cabanabana ganja.
I have the Live at Woodstock album, and it pwns. Voodoo Child (Slight Return) has one of the most awesome guitar solos ever.
Where can I find Star Spangled Banner...the studio version that was too complex to be played live...any ideas?..its just I heard it once while stoned and was most impressed...now albums just carry various live versions...
jimi hendrix is hot. i love his music. when im feeling down i listen to him and then everything is cool again. he was the first of the first.. and all(most) of the new bands and guitarists of today will never be as good as him no mater how hard they try. to me, he's still alive because i feel him in his music. he's one of my fav artists, after the beatles and bob marley.
i dunno but ive always found him a bit droning sometimes. i like his guitaring but his vocals piss me off sometiems caus he really was meant to bea guitarist and not a singer. i know i know, theres attitude and stuff in his voice but i jsut dont liek lsitening to that. hes an awesome guitarist i give him that, hes got a stlye no one can match too. but thers something thats a bit to progressive about some of hisstuff. jsutlike dark side is like one of teh worlds most popular albums but i dont like it much caus tis too progressive.
Well James Marshall Hendrix's music was rather simple I mean other than his solos that is. His singing was about soul. What most people don't know is, is that Jimi loved rock and roll like Chuck Berry and all but he loved blues rythm and soul. Like John Coltrane and Louie Armstrong anyways he entwined his metalish guitaring skills with his either rock and roll style singing or blues style singing. His bassist (mainly Billy Cox) didnt play as loud as most cause thats the way he had it and his drummer (mainly Mitch Mitchell) didn't play as loud cause they knew they had to let everyone out there get their Jimi Hendrix Experience and Jimi knew he was something special he didnt have a ego about it either he was in it for the music sad he died only after really playing guitar for 10 years so much more he could have learned and to think of all the new technology the new pedals and possible sounds that people today make that sometimes don't even come close to what Jimi did on his own but just think what kind of music would be out there today if Jimi was still alive and playing. -Peace Yo billy_bong This one is for Jimi (plays Foo Fighters - Everlong).
Well I like most people like to do the "herb" and watch this man perform. Sober or not he is awesome he smoked alot of it and I guaruntee you that in the 60's the audience did too and thats why they loved jimi's music just like me. It isnt direct but it has it's points. -lata billy_bong
yeah check out blue wild angel (live at isle of wight). probably one of the best performances of him out on dvd. i have a bass teacher who saw jimi twice in concert. He said that the first performance he saw him sucked cuss he was obiously drunk or tripping or somthing. But the second time it was really awsome.
I'm a guitarist myself, and a full time musician. Jimi Hendrix is unrivaled. He could improvise like a crazy person.. and he had such a laid back, smooooth style. Gotta love Jimi
He is like that is cause he was raised to be like that he had blues influences and was emotional of what was happening and then got a guitar and played his emotions on the guitar and sing it and most of it was good rock and roll hard with his sometimes metalish guitaring. He really got into drugs cause good things happened when he did and it was awesome for him and he played it very well sometimes with acid in his headband or injected by a cut in his forehead. He still remains to be a real bad ass plays with much emotion I really like his style and playing he played with such emotion it showed on stage playing with teeth, playing between his legs, and playing on the floor on his back bended like a bad ass. -Come and drink my wine Jimi your my boy your my boy jimi your my boy.
didn't know this was english class my bad. thanks. for. the. advice. i'll. take. it. under. consideration. -later. billy.bong.
Let me ask any of you this who honestly is a better guitarist than him? Also for his time him being 27 and all and able to play like that with all the drugs he was on I praise him and his live shows we're bad ass I have seen many of them either on vhs,dvd or even on 8 track cassettes so bs to the he plays like shit theory cause he doesn't he has the skill he has the voice and the lyrics his message was clear peace and roll and roll. SO IS THERE REALLY ANYONE BETTER THAN HIM and i still believe if Jimi was alive today and was the same age as he died he would be with Beyonce cause he's that bad ass even better than Snoop Dogg now adays. He is the best guitarist. -peace billy_bong ps. beyonce is mighty fine. i would do her. love her curves like in baby boy. especially love her nice round ass.
