I need some help with my girlfriend, dp you think she may be pregnant, and if you don't think she is what could this be from?

ok, well first of all I cumed in her like 3 to 4 days after her period last month, I didn't mean to, we were making out and one thing lead to another and we kinda just forgot to get a condom. now this is what happened. she always gets her period around the 3rd, she got it on time and stuff. when she did though, it only was bleeding for 1 day then it stopped and then 2 days later it was bleeding for only 1 day again. she still felt like she had her period but it didn't feel as bad as normal and it didn't bleed, than it stopped on like the 9th. so it only lasted 6 days. then today she said that when she went pee it was bleeding like she had her period, but the next time she went pee it wasn't bleeding...could that mean she is pregnant?

I doubt she's pregnant from what you described, but if it would give the two of you some peace of mind, you can always get a home pregnancy test.

yeah, but isn't spotting a sign of being pregnant?
what else would make her period act like that?
how long do you have to wait for the home pregnancy test?

I'd see a doctor if I were her. I don't mess around when my period acts funny.

Some women do spot during pregnancies, but it's not always the norm. With my experience, I never spotted in my full-term pregnancies. The only time I had bleeding during my pregnancies is when I was miscarrying.

If your girlfriend's period was due on the 3rd, and she got it on the 3rd, more than likely, she's not pregnant. She could have just had a lighter period this month. I myself have had periods where I barely bleed at all, but the next month seems to make up for it. Still, if she (or you for that matter) are concerned about a change in her period, I'd have her schedule an appointment with her OB/GYN, although it might take her a while to get in because what she is experiencing wouldn't be considered an emergency situation and OB/GYNs tend to get really booked up fast unfortunately.

Either way, a home pregnancy test can be taken at any time since she was due the 3rd of this month. Because you're nervous, I'd look into getting one. I would say that more than likely, it will be negative.

    Good luck!

Just get a pregnancy test. If she is past her period (and she is since the 3rd was a few weeks ago) she can take it. I agree with hippychick tho, it'll probably be negative.

Most of those horror stories you hear as a teenager ("I had my period for months after having sex, so I had no idea I was pregnant") is just BS girls use so they don't get into even more shit when they finally tell their parents their pregnant for waiting so long to do so ("I kept having my period, so I didn't know, mom and dad, I swear!"). Just about every girl in my highschool that got pregnant said they had kept having their period. You start to learn after a while (usually after a few negative pregnancy tests of your own) that that whole story is most likely BS.

Anyhow, no reason to sweat over it, go to CVS and pick up a test [IMG]

Has anything in her life changed dramatically recently? If she recently had sex for the first time, either first time ever or just first time after a long dry spell, that could throw her system off quite a bit. If she recently changed her exercise habits (started going to the gym, hiking, whatever), that could throw things off. A new diet -- especially significant weight loss, but also something like a switch between vegetarianism and meat-included diet could throw things off. Etc., etc., etc.

Beyond that, most women I know were not entirely regular by the age of 18 -- they maybe were mostly regular, but the freak readjustment (2 weeks late for no discernable reason, then regular at that time of the month, for example) still happened. Hell, I was never regular for more than 6 months at a stretch until I went on the pill when I was 24.

If she stresses out about it, that will likely make her period continue to act funny. Get a test or call the doc if that will make you feel better. If things don't get back to normal within a month, definitely see a doctor, as that could be a sign of something wrong. But, the minor fluctations you've described happened to me countless times during my teenage years, and I have yet to have any abnormalities pop up on my annual exam or have any pregnancies.

Yes. Please get a home pregnancy test, and if she isn't feeling well, or still having spotting (and the test was negative) then she needs to see a doctor. If the test is positive, she is definately pregnant and needs to see a doctor or midwife immediately.

I spotted the day I expected my period with my last pregnnacy. It was "Implantation Bleeding" and is not uncommon. I thought it was my period, and sent my dh off on a business trip, with no idea that I was pregnant. My bleeding stopped an hour later, and I was really confused. A few days later, I saw two pregnancy tests turn positive.
