it's been a good 2 years since i switched up jobs. this new one i start tomorrow requires a little more physical labor than i'm used to but thank the heavenly father above it's not in retail anymore. i think if i would have had to deal with customers a day longer, i was liable to choke slam someone's dumbass through the floor. i will be out of my comfort zone no doubt.
i doubt i'll be able to sleep tonight so maybe putting this here will help in some subconscious kind of way.
    wish the kid luck.

yea people dont make right decisions in school, or in life, they will wander til they find what they are happy with.

people can be simply stupid sometimes.

    not always the employees fault

layoffs, downsizing, rightsizing, orgasmsizing.... part of corporate culture now

performance reviews where the bottom 5-15% are fired every year

horrible working conditions, terrible managers, continuance commitment (just there for the cheque, next place that pays more I'll move to!)... it's now the norm, not the exception

I agree but I was speaking of working people, those of layoff etc and unemployment I feel or them but they are a different discussion, I simply replied to him

retail is pretty soulsucking though, it's not the most ideal working condition for a lot of people who end up in it

  11. Amen to that.

you could be my manservant MiGu

but, um, I'd only be able to pay you with shelter.. you could live in my house with me. No money for you!

seriously though, sucks that you didn't get that job... just keep hunting, keep your eyes out and you'll find something better, something that'll make you happier

hopefully theyre able to offer me atleast what im getting now, so i can get the hell out of the suburbs

as manservant, you would clean my house, do my laundry, shop for groceries for me, drive me places as I required, shovel the sidewalk, mow the lawn during summer, massage me when I'm sore, and generally agree with everything I do

wait, my boyfriend does like 90% of that. Hmmm... and I don't even have to provide shelter for him, just cuddles. Sorry MiGu, you've been cut :(

at least you have a friend with a semi-decent job who may be able to hook you up. None of my friends work in places I'd be interested in repeating, though I may ask a group member about her job and how to apply since she's graduating awfully soon and wants to run away

Ended up sleeping only 4 hours but the upside to that is I was mostly standing around getting the feel for things. I'm diggin it. The crew is all older people so I don't really have to deal with wild egos. I'm staying.
