1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

I'm taking an International Affairs class and for this research paper our teacher didn't really give us a topic. We can basically write about whatever we want. Does anyone have any good ideas? It has to be something from post-wwii to the present. I'm really interested in theology and also issues concerning women. I was thinking maybe human trafficking? I just want to see some other thought would be good to do. It has to be at least seven pages long

Golda Mier and Indira Ghandi led their countries before Margeret Thatcher led hers.
Several countries gained independance shortly after WWII. The political power of women in those countries could be studied. Perhaps a comparison between countries that gained independance from European colonialism could be compared with countries which overthrew a local monarchy.

Did colonialism increase the political opportunities of women in post-colonial governments? To put it another way, did exposure to European ideas (during colonialism) free women from the sexism found in all traditional societies?
