I am staying at the Swisshotel and was wondering if it was ok to smoke (non nicotine) in the rooms. It is a nice hotel and even though we have booked a non-smoking room, I don't want to cause and problems.
    Thanks

If you're genuinely worried about it I would check with the front desk and get a smoking room and then you should be fine.

I've heard some horror stories of people going against the rules of the hotel. Better safe than sorry, imnsho. Better yet to have a roof over your head than be out on the street due to gettin' booted for violations.

Have a great trip and avoid hassles!

Why would you book a smoking room at a nice place and then expect to smoke weed? Try one of the hostels, where you can do that kind of stuff. Business travellers use places like Swisshotel. Have some common courtesy for the other guests.

With all due respect, concerning the common courtesy, I think that's exactly why she asked.

Alot of hotels have no smoking policies but like a lot of things in Amsterdam a blind eye is turned to it.

Sorry, my bad. I've just had some bad experiences with smokers in my day. I live in the US and they tend to show disrespect to the rest of us, expecting me to go out of my way to accomadate their whims. No offense to the original poster.
