The title to one of my poems is "only read if you like True Poetry" With a title like that i would have thought i'd get a lot of responses yet no one is interested. If you don't appreciate poetry techniques then why write poetry then not appreciate others. I don't know i am in a bad mood because i am talking to an ex-boyfriend that won't stop calling me...yet it seems a little ironic that i got no responses to my poem...Maybe I'm just a bad poet..but let me know.
*sighs* Why does everyone keep starting threads like this!! Look around - hardly anyone gets any feedback!! It's not personal, this just isn't the best forum for getting loads of reaction from people!! I agree, if you post then it's courteous to respond to other people's work. But the fact remains that the volume of traffic here isn't much. It would also help if things didn't get pushed off the front page so quick .... I strongly advocate posting all your work in one thread, so as not to monopolise much space on the board. Also, as a reader, I prefer to read a collection of works, rather than just one poem, because it helps me understand the poet's style, techniques and preferred methods of expression.
This may sound really sadistically sarcastic but try to think I'm jus tbeing completely honest, but the world will be made a better place because of people, like yourself, who chooses not to get angry and explain why thier view may be haze for whatever reason. Putting all your work on one thread would be a good idea. I've read a few portfolios of work and, you are right, you just get better idea of what type of person and writter they are... I don't know how to do that though? Do you just make one entree then add replies t your own writting?
Please understand that we've seen a lot of posts just like yours who complain about not getting any feedback from other poets. You say you're just being honest. So was littleskinny. You were venting out your frustration. So was she. But enough of that. You're right. All you do is post one, then add replies each time you want to post a new poem. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.
