Going to Amsterdam for the 2nd Time

Hi All,

I'm heading to Amsterdam for five days in about 2 months. I want to stay in a hotel reasonably close to the red light district and reasonably priced. It will be me and one or two other people.

I would like to have a private bathroom and a clean room but not much else.

Any suggestions?

hi ya we stayed at the bar frisco inn it was basic but clean and had our own bathroom which was a bonus!
Its 35 euro each (we were ina double room)

also its right near the main damrak (i think its called) right near the station and the grasshopper is about 5 steps from it. I heard its right nr the red light district which we missed (god knows how lol) mind you we only stayed one night.

Thanks Amy that was great info. How the heck did you miss the red light district if you were that close! I'm sure you had fun anyhow.

Does anyone else have some other places that I should check out before I make a reservations with the Frisco Inn. I would like to make the reservation sooner rather than later.

The links provided by lctricity are nice but there are too many and there is no info on how far they are from the red light district.

I'm so excited to go I can barely contain myself!

Do you know what I dont even know how we missed it lol

We only stayed one night but walked about loads but manly walked along the main road think its called dam something as we walked a bit off trail and ended up talking to two dodgy blokes so then after that we stayed in the main road area...

How about some suggestions on boat hotels. Seems like that could be fun.

I will be in Amsterdam on March 18th and am staying at the www.bulldoghotel.com in one of the private rooms. It was about 95 Eu a night for private room (double) includes breakfast.

I did look at different options, and even thought about a house boat. With just two of us, the house boat was not practical, but
