Keep your pack weight light so you don't sweat and exert as much energy carrying it. Keep hydrated, carry water and drink it regularly. Wear thin cotton long-sleeved loose-fitting clothing to protect from sun, heat and sand and allow for cool drafts to circulate around your body. Cover your head with a hat or head covering. Keep in the shade when the sun is out from about noon to 3-4pm.
