What linux distro would be the best for both wardriving and to learn more about linux? Price isn't important, I just want to know what would do the job right. Thanks in advance~

Actually I would suggest Fedora Core 4 (although FC5 is comming out soon). Fedora Core is based on RetHat so its a really easy first distro to use. Even though I am more experienced now, I still use FC4 for my server as it is very easy, not time consuming, and its buit with server hosting in mind. I run SuSE 10.0 on my laptop and I like it very much. But I know I would have had a hard time with it if I hadn't used FC4 first.

Just remember that wireless on linux is a pain. Not much hardware has linux supported drivers so you'll have to find a way aound that. But its not really that hard, just time consuing. As far as wardriving, there really isnt a distro that is best for wardriving. All you need to wardriver is ANY computer with ANY operating system that CAN support the programs you want to run. If all you want to do is go wardriving sometimes and learn a little Linux and dont want to install........downoad WHAX. Its a boot ISO that fits on one CD and boots a version of Linux into RAM so there is nothing touching your C: drive. WHAX has alot of wardriving tools built in. Pretty neat.

I've installed FC4, and wireless works just fine (orinoco card). First impression was "SIX GIGABYTES?! DAMN!" but yeah... that was for complete install~
