hola! we are traveling out from our ohio pit to the wonderous west for the first time! we only have a small glimpse of our options of what to do from stuff like magazines and travel pamphlets, but we'd rather have some hip opinion in our decisions (not just take an agency's word for it, this is huge!) any suggestions of places to go/stay, people to meet? Any suggestions for WA and Vancouver would also be appreciated. Take care. peace. -april

Washington has some cool natural places...as does Oregon. :) I don't know as much about Washington, but I grew up here (and still live) in Oregon...so I can tell you about it! Even though you didn't ask about Specifically, since you posted in this form you have to hear about it! :p Central Oregon is beautiful, high, desert...and beacuse of that--almost always nice weather! :) If you go there, make sure to hike around Smith Rock (and climb if you're a climber)! Then there's Crater Lake, Oregon Caves, etc...niether of which I have been to. :p If you like beaches, make sure to check out the Oregon and Washington coast. :) As for major cities--Portland is OK I guess.

In Washington, Bellingham seems like a cool city (www.bellingham.org), and if you are going up that way I would suggest checking out Chuckanut Drive. It's a short, scenic, drive on the way to Bellingham which is fabolus! Right along the water...
