Hey follks...my love and i will be making some stops about Colorado (CO Springs and Denver area), any suggestions of where to go? - I've never been farther west of fucking indianapolis in my twenty one years! so far we have the basics planned: seven falls, rocky mtn. trail, and some other place with big red rock formations (kissing camels perhaps?). we are also possibly looking for places to stay (camping..whether national forest or front lawns...least amount of money involved as possible. we'll be heading out around the middle of june...is denver worth while or just another city, because we hope for this to be mainly nature based, and only stopping in the best spots??? from CO we'll be heading north to WY, OR, WA, then Vancouver, so if anyone has recommendations about these places- we would really appreciate it... Thanks. Take care. Peace. -april

Skip Seven Falls and see Helen Hunt falls, same road, earlier turn off.
Seven Falls is a tourista nightmare.
The rock formations are Garden of the Gods. See also Red Rocks Amphitheatre west of Denver. If no shows are planned, the amphitheater is open to the public since it is a Denver Mountain Park.
The cost is high, but it is worth it to take the cog rail to the top of Pike's Peak if you don't have a day to hike the mountain (or not much experience on fourteeners)
What do you mean by Rocky Mountain Trail? The National Park?
Lots of national forest and state parks.

We have the Gathering this year, too. Location should be announced in June.

Make sure to check out Red Rocks if you enjoy music. It has to be one of my favorite places on earth. The last time I went I was amazed at all of the changes they've put in, with the hall of fame and everything. The trails and caves are cool around the amplitheater if you can still get to them and they all haven't been spray painted........

If you want to see pure nature try Estes Park (I think thats how you spell it). The only place I've had to wait on main street for an ELK to cross....beautiful scenery and wildlife that you can see from the road.
