I like it natural. Don't wax it. Don't cut it. Don't do any stupid "civilized & society accepted terms" shit for me. So not a turn on. Love rubbing my face in hair on my girls or my guys. A comfortable realness that people are so desparate to get rid of because it irks them or something. They don't get that shaving and all that stuff causes more problems but because they just have to look like a smooth baby or something, they do it. Honestly, if I wanted to date a hairless person, I'd date pre-pub kids. I love the adults and IMHO, adults have hair, scars, stretch marks, imperfections, realness and inner beauty they don't need to hide behind tons of make up or plucked skin. More power to ya if you like it that way but its just not my cup of tea when it comes to lovers. Cheers.
dude i like as even men take care of their armpits.. it feels cleaner like this.. and mine definitely gotta be depilated! leg and hairy? not my thingy.. doesnt look/feel cute.. cheers! forgot.. about the vagina.. i trim it.. and shave from time to time (depends on how big rush im having). damn it feels comfortable as everything is fresh!
That whole feeling of being fresh only if youre shaved is just an illusion. People can still have lots of hair and still be "fresh" if they take care of themselves well enough. Id rather have people be themselves and be hairy and natural instead of making themselves into what they are not and living some illusion. People only prefer that shaved look because that is what society has brainwashed everybody into thinking is the best thing.
Well, I've been somewhat converted. I am trying the au natural look, no shaving anything! This is a huge step for me and I am seeing how long I last. I think as long as I can trim some hair it won't bother me as much. The last time I tried this, I was on Lithium and was shaking so bad that everytime I tried to shave my legs looked like constellations of nicks. It was not a good time in my life. I am glad to say that this is my choice and my boyfriend, who is not a huge fan (he shaves some body hair himself), does support me. I am just waiting for our roommate to realize that my leg hair is longer than his! PS It's been over almost two monthes since the last time I shaved my legs! It's a nice soft, dark fuzz b/c of body lotion soften up the hair. Peace & love
Sounds great, I hope that works out for you. Natural is best and im sure your boyfriend would agree that you look naturally beautiful. Of course everyone here is beautiful in their own special unique way.
Well if you say so. I dont mean by shaving (can i point out that i was mainly talking about depilating?) that a dude who has lots of hair in his body (chest, belly, legs, and so on) should be all shaven off.. that would be hilarious.. though dont come here to tell me that it doesnt feel more fresh and better as its damn hot weather, and yer sweating there.. and ya have hair everywhwere.. dont you think that it feels much better as yer armpits are shaved or legs.. (as yer woman) (I depilate couse shaving every day is not my thingy, depilating once in 1,5-2 weeks sounds better to me). Tell me actually have you been testing yer sweating.. how fast you start to smell bad (while using deodorant and stuff and while being all natural.. just soap and water?) how fast all the processes work in the middle of the helly hot and sunny day?! I mean as we start talking about all the natural and hippy stuff and then comes hygiene we are talking about, and as yer allllll natural.. then in this case, forget lady speedstick, forget denim, forget all the other stuff that is ment for you.. forget it .. and use soap and water.. in this case i might ask, why use showercream while i have soap and water and i take care of it.. while showering 30 times a day.. OR i use tehnique, i use all the good hygiene stuff and i stay fresh while showering max 3 to 5 times a day as its desperately hot.. So you choose.. I already did.. cheers
Me and My husband dont shave all that much...I shave my legs and armpits once in a while ( i dont grow much hair),, my private part natural except for where they shaved for my c-section it wont grow back. I like rugged scruffy men.
I don't shave. Some guys look better shaved in their face and done eyebrows ( yup. you heard me ) but that's facial. body hair, however, is a different story. If they wanna shave, go ahead! If they don't wanna, also OK. I don't shave because it doesn't matter unless it has to do with sex ( which I don't want now )
First, I'm pretty much all natural and definitely in favor of it in others (male and female). I have a full, untrimmed beard as nature said I should grow, and am growing my hair out long. Well, longer, since it's already rather long. As far as people saying hair is itchy, well, it isn't. My leg hair doesn't itch or poke anything. Only short hair (from being trimmed/shaved) is itchy and pokey, as a very function of it's short length. it's bristlelike at that length, so touching it, it has less hair to bend and absorb the motion and thus transfers it to the skin. My beard itched for a few weeks of growing, now it's been over a year, it's long and feels...normal. It itches as much as my head might. If you'd let it all grow out, you'd notice it too, but most men never get a long enough beard to get past the itchy phase, and most women won't stop shaving their various areas long enough. As far as there being a conspiracy, i don't much buy that in general. I do blame Gillette for making men think beards are bad. Around the time of WWI, all the farmboys with long beards were going in to enlist, but it turned out having all those men so close together in barracks was causing lice problems, and with the new razors out, shaving became the norm and we got the doughboys. But fashion in general (clothing, hairstyles, etc) is a normal human impulse that exists everywhere. It has a real function, that of social cohesion. It's part of tribal identity, that didn't go away when the tribal system did. The downside is, we have a huge society now, but it's too big for our brain to handle (since it's still the same stone-age brain we always had), so we form sub societies (subcultures) in a tribal way. A gang is a glaring example, but any subculture is a tribal order. You dress the same, talk the same, act the same. There's room for individuality of course but the trend is to be similar, it's your common ground and a symbol of your closeness. I say it's bad, because all those "tribes" have to work together in "civilization", but because basically anyone outside your tribe is by definition an outsider, bias creeps in. That's where the big money comes in, because people do have a need to fit in, just to function in society. Example: big beards, being looked down upon, can keep one from getting hired, even if only in a subconscious way. Oh, also, someone made a comment about whether we go naked when it's warm enough to do so. Well, trouble is, it's actually ILLEGAL in nearly all circumstances outside the home (aside from specificlly nudist areas); so it's not even feasable.
I agree with your assessment of civilization Trippin. That was very well said. My friend had another analogy of people; they are ants in a colony. About the itching, ever sense I grew pubes, they were always itchy. I don't know why, maybe I have sensitive skin or something. I shaved pubes before it was "cool" to shave in middle school. I ended up letting them fully grow back in, because I didn't want to stand out. It's kind of funny that now I am not shaving I stand out, but when I first grew hair, I stood out b/c I shaved. Ironic? Plus, I am glad that I grew out of the stage of trying to conform to other's standards. What really matters is what I think of myself. Shaving or not shaving does not change who we are! It's too bad that many people haven't realized that important truth. Peace & Love
Being clean shaven feels good for some people, others it doesnt. Just because something feels good doesnt mean its always right for everybody. I dont think this whole shaving thing would be such a big issue if society didnt make such a point of insisting that people shave different parts of their bodies or they get labelled as being unclean or indecent or dirty. Obviously the hair is there for a purpose otherwise it wouldnt be there. I guess people had it real BAD before all the deordorant and other modern commodities came along huh?
you shower 3 to 5 times a day?! oh my... most people in other countries think americans smell WAY too sweet with their scented soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant, and perfume. quite frankly, i agree. every day at work i smell people who are so fragranced it makes me sick! on a related note i was watching the discovery channel one day and there was a comment about an english queen from 1600s or something: "she took a bath once a month, whether she needed it or not!"
I agree about the over-washing, 3-5 is so much. Even when it's hot, you know, it's just sweat, it's not filth or liquid evil or something. I really don't know why human scent is horrible and needs to be hidden with flowery and fruity scents. But then, I'm one of the hippie-types who doesn't see the need to shave, or even shower that often (though, I still do it a few times a week, there's been times I went much longer).
I used to shower to cool off, not get clean. Just get under a cold stream of water to cool down. The one time I did shower 3 times a day was when I wrestled and it was really gross. Some of the guys had skin fungus and I didn't want to get that shit. These days I shower every other day or so. Just depends on moods and how many times I have sex with my bf! Going a few hours smelling like sex is okay, but after a couple days... well, that's pushing it! Peace & Love
yeh. i've got long hair and a beard. why should i drag a sharp blade across my face every day or a woman have to shave her freaking legs. there is a reason you have hair. its all part of a cultural conditioning which has to be so people can sell razor blades. but i had to learn that and hopefully others will to.
Since this thread started it seems as if shaving 'down there' has become more commonplace. I went to a spa in the Netherlands in the summer and every woman and around half of the men were completely shaven, whereas a few years ago perhaps only a third of the women would have shaved completely and very few of the men.
Chalk it up to fashion. these days people do a lot more extreme things to keep in step than shave here and there. I'm thankful I don't live in a culture where it's expected to have a ring in my nose or an artificially elongated neck.
The most idiotic thing I have seen is this new high forehead look for teenage girls. They use heavy makeup, too. They look like they've been embalmed. Essentially, this new style makes young women look like they have no identifiable face. Time to scrape all those pounds of makeup off, ladies, and get your hair back down partway on your forehead, and your looks will get better by a hundredfold. Of course, perhaps some of you young women want to look ugly. Nature, or God, has given you a nice face, why bury it with all that makeup? Natural is so much better. Forget all the phony and artificial appearances. Natural is always more sexy!!!
natural is beautiful! i feel i have better things to spend my short time on earth doing then to worry about shaving. once you do it, you've got to keep up a nasty routine to beat the itch.. where as if i leave my body to be, its works with me just fine and does it's own beautiful thing. i do occasionally shave my legs/armpits.. armpits only during summer but i honestly respect any person who stays natural in all places.. it's a pretty radical thing to be nowadays, sadly.
