Everyone tells me that the shroom powder at the bottom of a bag of shrooms is the strongest, I said I don't see how. Then I took about 3 grams of powder, and made it into tea, it felt like 5 grams, it was INSANE. Pretty awesome, huge come up, lots of visuals, and then I puked my guts out which is always horrible on shrooms. Whats other peoples experiences with the powder?
Ya but puking for me is so bad because usually I can't feel my body and I'm worried I'll choke. Last time the toilet went flat with the ground, and the whole room was like a mass of tentacles.
i always powder my shrooms before ingestion anyway. the powder itself, though, is NOT anymore potent. however, there may be certain factors that lead to it *feeling* stronger--perhaps the insane amount of surface area quickens its aborption and minimizes the pre-trip metabolic processing? this makes sense to me.
Bingo! There's a technique I've heard people use where they grind the shrooms into powder, pour about 1.5 grams into a shot glass and mix it with lemon juice (high acidity) and it makes them feel super strong. (3.5-4gram trip) It doesn't work NEARLY as well if you slice them up with scissors and don't make them totatlly powder (need the increased surface area)
Ya thats what I was trying to get across by stronger. I think it gives your body a chance to absorb more of the drug out of the mushrooms, because I doubt all the drug is leeched out of the mushrooms when you eat them.
now we're getting into applied chemistry; the citric acid forms citrate salts with the psilocybin, which may have more activity than psilocybin alone. interesting i've never heard of that, but i'll definitely research into it more
Ya I mean psilocybin, and psilocin, hence why I said DRUG instead of individually posting both their names.
All I can tell you is I ate five and a half grams of mushroom powder, half on pizza and half straight up and it was the strongest trip I ever had on mushrooms.
I ate 5grams straight non-powder, that was a crazy intense trip, I was half concious for the whole peak. But I ate like 3 grams of powder, and had a trip near that.
P.S. phosphoric acid is enzymatically removed from the psilocybin and creates the active agent, psilocin. this is what enters your brain (because of its lipid solubility) and causes the effects. that's why the lemon thing works; acidic substances like lemon juice or vinegar will effectively pre-digest the mushrooms for you. the result, of course, is a trip that onsets within 20 minutes, peaks higher, and baselines in less than six hours.
Aright...does time you soak it change something...like you let it sit in there for an hour will the ghetto digestion system make it even faster to absorb in your stomach than if you just put it in the acidic juice and drink right away??
you need to soak the powder in an ounce or two of freshly squeezed lemon juice at room temperature for 5-30 minutes. sources say that 15 minutes works just fine. i'm not sure if there are any significant benefits noticed from soaking for longer--like 24hrs.
i've heard of this a few times before, and it all makes a decent amount of sense to me. i haven't gotten around to it because for a while i was more into acid and 2C-E and DPT, and then i pretty much stopped tripping for a number of months..... now i have some mushrooms, but i only have four grams. the shorter duration of action, the higher peak and quicker onset when compared to simply eating them is very attractive to me, however, i've heard varied reports of how much stronger the effect is when taken this way. assuming i were to powder 2g of cubes and soak in 2 fluid ounces of fresh lemon juice for 20 minutes, how much stronger would you estimate the peak to be? (assuming you have experience doing this) i've heard people say it can feel as if it becomes fives times as powerful, but one has no idea what their background and points of reference are, how comfortable they are with tripping, and it must be taken into consideration that there is no yardstick or means of truly measuring how "far out/in" you've gotten. nevertheless, i trust your opinion about as much as i would trust anyone's opinion from here, and if you've tried this i'd like to know about how much "stronger" it's made your mushrooms according to your personal estimation. basically i just don't know if i should be taking 1.5, 2, or all 3.9g i've got..... normally i would want to take about 5.5-6g as a tea. i'd assume the juice extracts the tryptamines fairly well; would you expect noticable loss of alkaloids from straining off the solid matter? that way i could add the lemon to a cup of tea or mix it with some sugar and water...magic lemonade sounds quite nice, come to think of it...
i'm a big fan of eating every last piece of mushroom... i wish i could tell you from personal experience, as i've not yet tried it either. i'm opposed to paying for mushrooms so i haven't had them in close to two years. all i know is that the majority of people report a profound increase in the strength. lots of people recommend starting off with 1g. with shroom experience, i'd say that half-eighth (1.7g) couldn't be too bad, eh... and it would certainly stir up a little storm...
