Here's a nice embarassing confession from today!

So I have really, really low blood pressure. My doctors are always telling me that I should not worry and to just make sure I'm careful if I stand up too fast or something because I may feel dizzy or lightheaded initially.

So the stupidest thing happened to me and also hurt me pretty bad. I had just taken a really big hit in my bathroom (I smoke in there because of the fan). I decided that I would hold it in and blow it out the vent in the hallway as I was walking out to the living room.

No, that's not quite what happened. I think I made it to the middle of the hallway and all I really remember is that I felt like I was shrinking with each step and also that everything was going black. A voice in my head said "I'm falling". Next thing I remember is a bright white flash and waking up in pain on the floor.

Apparently I must have gotten up too fast from the hit, then proceeded to walk briskly down the hall and although I did exhale and take a few deep breaths I totally blacked out and fell.

I crashed face first into the corner of my wall and fortunately didn't break anything or cut something. The bright white flash must have been from my head slamming into it with all of my body weight. I have pain and bruising but that's it. I'm glad no one whas there to see it except that if I did get hurt I would have been alone.

For the most part I think it's a little funny, but ouch...it hurts so bad!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Perhpas you should start a low-blood pressure support group like: Low Blood Pressure People Anonymous - LBPPA ;)

Way to go... Why don't you buy one of those motorized wheel chair so you never have to worry about standing up? Plus, you would be really cool. There was this special kid I knew in 4th grade who had one... he controlled it by moving his head, because he couldn't really move anything else. But he used to go down the hallway popping wheelies or whatever and all the kids thought he was cool. He really was. :) I miss him.

Every time I think about what I'll be like when I'm old I immediately think that I'll have a walker for stability, now I just wonder what exact age I'll be 'old' at.

The same thing happened to my friend on saturday. Took a big hit and got up to go outside and woke up on the pavement half an hour later with a broken nose.

*squee* I have low blood pressure too!

It started during my puberty. I'd miss lots of school because whenever I had mild sinus issues, I'd get really, really dizzy. My parents didn't know what's wrong and I had to get all these tests. . . And they said it was just low blood pressure. It's not as bad as it was, but I still get really dizzy standing up and am an all-around lazy ass.

    LBPPA! Hoo-ray!

Same here, it probably wouldn't be so bad if I lead a healthier more active life. And Fallen (ironic name for this conversation :) ) sorry to hear about your friend. I was just inches from possibly breaking mine. I only seem to have some minor facial bruising after it was all said and done. I go to the doctor too in a couple of weeks and I'm going to find out if there's anything more wrong other than low blood pressure but I think that's all there is to it.
