$310 a month here plus utilities. Not bad if I compare it to other places I've lived. Buffalo was one of the least expensive, had a small apt on Elmwood Ave there. I liked it alot.

they just past a law here,, fer us old timers our tax rate is froze fer evermore..

damn right we voted it in..

15 new subdivision goin in as we speak in a county of 600 or so square miles..

    its a moral battle..

ya wanna smel chickenshit or deal with the city..

    the city wins again..

but in 20 years we will still be payin the same property tax we are now,, in theory an as the law stands now..

yeah but they can take your property away if it is more cost effective for your state or county or town or village or whatever - thanks to that recent decision by our lovely supreme court - eminent domain is now also the case for just more money - just exactly that - simple.
It is upon us - you got your hole ready to pull in after you

Over here life is expensive, ESPECIALLY housing.
$1,200 is how much a neighbour of mine is renting out his 1 bedroomed apartment in this area for. That's excluding heating, electricity and everything else that goes with the place.
ill never be living here when i need a place of my own, thats all i know... couldnt afford it :p
    peace and love

You could rent a house "wood frame built in the 40s or late 30s" for $80.00 in 1968 . now 1 bedroom or even a converted car garage efficiency rents for $500.00 some include electric some dont.

I was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw
Papa would do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel, sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good

    CHORUS
    Gypsys, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us Gypsys, tramps, and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
    And lay their money down

Picked up a boy just south of Mobile
Gave him a ride, filled him with a hot meal
I was sixteen, he was twenty-one
    Rode with us to Memphis
And papa woulda shot him if he knew what he'd done

    CHORUS

I never had schoolin' but he taught me well
    With his smooth southern style
Three months later I'm a gal in trouble
    And I haven't seen him for a while, uh-huh
    I haven't seen him for a while, uh-huh

She was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
Her mama had to dance for the money they'd throw
    Grandpa'd do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel, sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good

My roommates and I pay $450 each for a 2 floor, 3 bedroom apartment with a porch and backyard. The utilities are included. We're in a semi-scuzzy but dull neighbourhood of Toronto, but at least its safe. And we're 10 minutes by streetcar/bike from downtown.

Our friends all pay $600 upwards.
One of them pays $1000 for a bachelor, which is retarded for a university student.

I love how renters have capitalized on the trendy neighbourhoods and the silly trendys pay top buck for living in a complete slum.
