iv been curious about capitalism. i found this website.

    iv heard about hippie capitalism.

    http://www.celebratecapitalism.org/

im at poverty at the moment with my lower class gf.

i thought capitalists were mean people that were snobby, rich, arrogant, upper class, high nosed assholes that would wash their eyes if they saw anyone below their class...is this true is any respect?

I wouldn't say that about capitalists, I mean.. you're living in a capitalist society and using their system, which kind of makes you one too, by association.

There are cool people from every organization, man.

capitalism, in the Reader's Digest form is applying capital (money, goods, raw materials, labor) to create a wealth flow.
That in itself is not inherently evil. It is when one exploits the above, esp the labor and raw materials part for even more profit (greed.)

Capitalism is the system in which the person who own the labourer is benefited,a s opposed to the worker themselves, which is crazy, considering it is the workers that produce commodoties etc

Capitalism is just an economic system that says everyone is responsible for what they have. Whether they inhertited it, worked hard for it, or worked hard and have little, or did nothing and have nothing. The good that comes from capitalism is that the people who refuse to work do not have to share with the people who worked hard for what they got. The bad is that it encourages greed causing people to cheat each other.

Every economic system has pros and cons. Just like communism (on a large scale, not talking about communes) is good in ensuring equality, but also means that some people can be lazy and recieve what everyone else does while a select few are doing all the work.

I don't support capitalism. I don't care what freedom it allows. It just allows and encourages too much greediness.

Well, advertising encourages greed, and advertising walks hand in hand with capitalism.

Capitalism doesn't need support. A rally for capitalism is mainly a rally for rich white guys. They already have enough power and stuff. The sad thing about most rich people is though they could easily afford new hybrid vehicles or could convert their houses to total solar energy, they don't.

Blaming the rich for capitalism is easy, but everyone is responsible.

Hit the nail on the head there! Capitalism is entirely about how much profit a person can make off the labour of somebody else, and they will do anything to increase the profit margin. Capitalism is responsible for 30,000 a day dead in Africa, 65 cents/hour in Brazil, global warming, rainforest destruction, etc, etc. They do not care about those less fortunate than themselves because all that matters to them is money and power. The wealthiest nation in the world (USA) doesn't even have a good national healthcare system thanks to the ultra right-wing system advocated and practiced. Also, we don't know the limits of solar energy because governments and/or corporations haven't bothered to invest and research as no-one can make profit once the solar panels have been sold and attached to your house. That's the nature of it.

Capitalism = War, Poverty, Racism, Sexism, Greed, Environmental Destruction, Inequality.

Who do you think it is that wants to crush anything that doesn't fit or disagrees with the ideal of society and the system?
