Don't make me get our neighbor Detroit involved, Texas would be doomed!

Ten gallon hats would be covered in blood, and not northern blood.

Jack Johnson wrote a great song about this called "Times Like These".

And hey, how bad can Texas be? After all, our President was born there. ;)

I didn't say God prefered us over anyone else. (I know people like thinking that.) I said it has been our slogan for quite a while. I often wonder why people that get the maddest about that slogan don't even believe in God. hmmmmmmm?

Bellfire, merci pour le bienvenue ... (thankyou for your welcome) i actually have been living here for two months a year for the last 7 years so i know some stuff aobut this country.

The following is on no affense, bt just sum research and debating or whatever you wanna call it:

when you say "we were your firends" wha exactly do you mean? are talking about canada because if you are im not exactly with everything you are saying.

america has done some bad stuff too so its not liek it should be god bless america.. god bless it for what? because of the attacks on september 11th? god would bless their families not their country. god would bless the world not america -because it wasnt only a wakeup call for america, it did take (for the most part) the world for a big big spin and not jsut the us was freaked out the world was.

us in the past did not fight with canada.. its first wars were fought with britain until it declared its own independence on july 4th.. argh damn i have to go now but im not finished and ill right back alter

    bye bye peace

God bless America because we live here and would like it to be nice. What's wrong with that? People ask for blessings for their homes and families and food and pets all the time. Why cant they ask for a better country too?

By the way, It's not God Blessed America, it's God Bless America, it's not a statement but a request.

Really because it seems more like a command:p

And if there is a god, we should hope he blesses the world and ignores man-made political boundaries.

the only way the world is going to thrive is if the entire place gets some help.

The more I think about it, the stupider the saying seems to me

Yo quit fighting. I think it's God Bless the World and not God Bless America... God can bless it if it wants but don't forget the rest of us!

Nothing's stopping you from blessing your own country, but it's out of our jurisdiction.

    ???

Prejudice, beliefs, whatever. Yeah, america went into a bit of an embarrasing flag-frenzy after 9-11, but the phrase itself is just a benevolent part of american culture, it isn't meant to be in any way negative.

If you want to be prejudiced against americans or any other broad group of people that's your right, but it's our right to defend ourselves against your excuses to do so.

Sorry if my opinions make you sad, but if they do it's your own fault. You and you alone are responsible for the emotional functioning of your mind. Seriously, all truly happy people have realized this simple fact.

no im sad because i think my bf is dead or harmed. and im sad becuase i just had a big fight with my dad.. i dont get sad because of a silly little debate on the internet with people ive never seen

defend yourself if you want but i just said that im not gonna defend myself because right now i m not in a mood to.. it had nothing to do with your posts.

and about the frenzy thing... i dnot think it was a frenzy for just america, i think it was for the world. this is my opinion and you've already told me off so dont again.

    peace!

God bless America has been our slogan since 1776. I think because it is getting scary now, people have finally picked up on the fact we say it. Our pledge has one nation under God. (That doesn't mean we think we are the only nation. I think people have sucky economies and because we won't welfare them anymore they hate us. (Yes I said welfare them. Money you give and never expect to be repaid.) I agree that we didn't fight with Cananda but all of the sudden you dislike us. We have always given you special treatment over all the other countries. (We pratically slam the door in the Mexican and Cuban's faces while we shake your hand as you come over here.) Maybe we should rethink some policies here. We keep out the people that like us and work for dirt cheap and let in the people that hate us and would not lift a finger if we were in trouble. I love the Canadians and I always wanted to go but now they seem to find fault with this country. Sure Americans have done bad things but when it wasn't harming or better yet it was benificial to other countries then we were so loved. Just be honest, you have terroist in your country and you are scared so you turned on us not to make them mad.

oh man bell... well dont tihkn that the world (more in particular , canada) suddenly hates america. i have been living here (i nthe us) for two months every year and have noticed this "slogan" for like.. a few years. so.. i respect america and all my possessions, most of my bfs and gfs, most of my tourism, and everything all starts in this country. i just brought this up liek an invitation to my birthday party...

there are worse people with bigger grudges against america... dont mistake me for one of them. and just remember that canada helped america too... and still allowed you to walk into our country too

What ever happened to separation of church and state? And why do people feel the need to express their religious viewpoints on the back of their car? That seems slightly degrading to me. Shouldn't your prayers be in the privacy of your own thoughts? I always thought that's what the Bible taught and I was raised devoutly Catholic.

It's nothing personal but it just seems like no one likes us anymore. I mean take Lance Armstrong for example, just because he won that bike race some French fan thought it would be cool to spit on him. I know we can be jerks (There was a guy here in my own county that punch the owner of a Subway sandwich shop because the Owner didn't speak English and the person was a, let's just say he leaned away from the goodness.

there's that whole religious freedom thing, when it comes to personal expression. i'm with you on keeping church and state totally seperate. but don't go thinking that just because someone's expressing their religious beliefs that it has anything to do with you. not everything is about you. ;)
