if you gonna see a doc.. and you give blood test.. and doc figures out you have anemia.. what is the very first thing he/she offers you to eat? (in case you say NO WAY to the iron powder)
spinach? brocolli? kale? lol. red meat is the easiest and tastiest option, but conscientious vegans can't and won't eat it. not to mention that a lotta heart patients are supposed to cut down on it, mainly because they're eating the store bought brand, instead of the clean, lean and mean properly hunted wild game.
this convo is going nowhere.. you have your oppinion, i have mine, let it be then everybody knows that the healthiest way of eating is mixing everything.. according to yer body and the vitamins.. dont tell me im wrong again in yer case.. whatever you say, if you like to be vegan, then i dont mind, do it.. Im happy for yah!
vegan?!!!! LOL. i'm an avid hunter and a meat addict. how funny. i was just disagreeing with your point that no one should give up red meat.
i do. it's a very spiritual process, hunting & killing to feed your family like that. liver...yummm. when i was little my mom would let us pick our birthday dinners. my favorite meal in the entire world was liver & brown gravy over rice and sauteed onions & mushrooms. my mother would make this for me and her, then something else for the rest of the family. but my brother james couldn't even be around when i was eating it or he'd start to gag.
i don't like raw, though it's a custom among the men to take a bite of a deer's heart after cutting it out. i want it cooked. once dave got a deer down and it was gangrenous. had been attacked by a mountain lion and was dying of infection. the NM DOW gave dave a tag to down another, since that's his primary meat source.
it would just be so primal. i dont know if i could do it. i've got recipes for raw liver smoothies, but have never been brave enough... gah! gangrenous deer sounds so gross. hope it wasnt suffering before your man put it out of it's misery. hahah, from chocolate to raw organ meats!
very much the same high to me. i'm a very practical hunter. i hunt to feel more connected to the earth and her creatures and the cycle of life. i hunt to knwo that should something happen and there's no grocery stores, i can still provide for my family. i hunt out of respect for the animals i eat and the food i put in my families bodies. i don't hunt for that primal thrill, which is a very real thing, i don't think i'm trly capable of that sort of emotion about it. it's a stark experience for me, but has become essential to my character. eating raw hearts seems like an "in your face" sorta deal to me, a kind of one upmanship for some. for others, it's a duty to complete.
eating a raw heart? thats just eww. but i love me some beef liver. i havent had it in a good while, either. ima get me some liver, and fresh onions, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
eating raw meat isnt very nice, you might get all the diseases and maggots and other stuff like this. better cook than just eat RAW..
