Is there not, then, a line that says, those who don't read the Bible will be condemned for it (whether it's to Hell, or in some other way)? I do remember reading a passage like that.
Well, those who never read the bible would never know that line or its implications existed, so you're in the clear
Lol ... I'm pretty far from the clear despite the fact that I've read some of the Bible ... (not that I'm shooting for the clear anyway).
I think if you claim to be a Christian you should read the book its founded on. Because if you just listen to people talk about their own interpretations of the book then you will be really lost.
2 timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.
Paul speaks of those who donot obey the Gospel in Thessalonians 1:7-9 '...the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.'
There must be mention in the New Testament about reading what would become to Old Testament, but this sounds like asking you to read something that hasn't been written yet! The bible was a collection of stuff that didn't find it's way into ONE book for about a thousend years, so my thinking is, if somebody thought to include such a line in the final draft, it wouldn't be with Divine Approval... But I guess He would have given it...
