eh, i don't care whether they're four hundred pounds of blubbery fury, or ten pounds of makeup wrapped around a stick. its all about the personality

i dont know, i stopped letting media influence my perceptions of beauty mainly because i realised that its not real. how can i like something/someone thats not real? its like when you are a teen and you kiss your posters of your favourite singer/actor etc on the wall and day dream about them....these people are manufactured to the point that they have loads of people around them telling them what to wear, etc whilst us mere mortals (lol) only have ourselves..
today a friend asked me if i was going to go to the sun beds before the holidays, as i'm very pale. I found it so funny that he asked me that. seriously i couldnt care less.

For all the skinny people that can't help it--this thread was not aimed at you.

It was just an expression of my own about how I think many young girls are being trapped in the whole scheme of the burnt Barbie look when they look much better naturally. I mean take Britney Spears for example. She was a very cute girl until she painted herself like an Oompa Loompa.

It just gets frustrating seeing all the Paris clones. Maybe I'm just too sensitive about it all, but it just seems like a commercialized robotic, plastic society (and very hateful society) is really growing by leaps and bounds after such a loving, natural and tolerant movement in the 60s, early 70s and mid-90s.

Feels like we are going back to the ultra Fad-based Culture of the 50s, late 70s and 80s.

The late 90s and so far into the 00s, the promotion of competition, snobbery and pure hatred shines through in "reality tv" shows and these horrid talk shows. It saddens me, really. It's about about what the INDUSTRY considers to be beauty and goodness.

This is not progress. Hate and Elitism is THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT WE ARE ALL FIGHTING FOR!
