yogurt during antibiotics really does help... I had to get some back in Jan and the pharmacist lady recommended I eat some yogurt too.. the grocery beside had strawberry yogurt on sale no less, so I bought two big tubs of it and ate 'em both up within four days or so. You almost need to overload on yogurt though, I don't htink one of those little cups a day would be enough, more like a decent bowlful

Does anyone ever get a yeast infection, that just goes away as soon as you get your period?

I've had that happen several times... so, I usually don't even bother trying to treat it unless my period isn't due for a while.

if its not a yeast infection it might be that your trousers or underwear is a little too tight.

thong underwear, some boy shorts don't give your package room to breathe, so to speak. get's stinky when all the glands there are putting out their stuff and it' snot drying properly. it also gets infected more.

    Regarding the garlic thing...

A good tip is to wrap it in gauze and then tie dental floss around the bunched part, leave it long, makes it easy to get out like a tampon, if you are worried about extraction.

Ummm... My my "Yoni" must be super tough or something, but I've always chopped up the garlic before putting it in the gauze, and that doesn't bother me at all. It just makes me TOTALLY reek. When I first tried garlic for yeast control, I heeded the warnings not to nick it. It didn't do a damned thing. One day I accidentally chopped off the end, but used it anyway... and it worked a little better but didn't sting or anything. So the next time after that, I just chopped it all the way up, bundled it into a gauze/floss tampon, and bingo, worked MUCH better. Sometimes I even break open an acidophilus capsule and sprinkle it on the garlic pieces before wrapping it up. It really seems to help cut down on the severity, if not make it go away completely. I am curious as to why I seem to be so different.

    Another thing: douches.

They are supposed to be really really bad for you. But if I have a yeast infection, a good water/vinegar or water/tea tree oil douche soothes it like nothing else, not to mention clearing out all the junk so the garlic or meds or whatever can work better.

It seems like what every yeast infection care site or person reccomends doesn't work for me, and what they warn against does. I don't get it. I do suffer from chronic yeast infections, but only because (ok this is going to get graphic) my hubby gets them from me, and his package apparently doesn't stay dry enough to not get it, so when mine are gone he keeps giving them back to me. Argghh! I talked to my gynecologist about this and she said MOST men don't get the yeast infections because their packages are usually too dry of an environment, but some men can if their package is always moist.

    I hate yeast.

yeast hates the pH of menstrual blood, so mild yeast infections will often go away during your period.

and some birthcontrol pills make you get a mild yeast before you get your period.

is there not something that yoru hubby can take to keep from giving you back yeast infections? I mean, I know people can get yeast issues orally (thrush) but that's treatable in men and women, I don't see why it wouldn't be treatable for your guy too

Brian, just to be sure, is treating his genital area. Cleaning it with mild soap and water, then rubbing yogurt onto it and putting on a condom or cellophane wrap (like the reynolds stuff). Your hubby should look into a way to treat his penis (a natural way would probably be fine to avoid the medications).

You shall, from now on, be known as SUPER YONI WOMYN! Consider it like being knighted or something, only better, cuz it has the word Yoni, in it. The Royal Order of the Iron Yoni.

Who has graphic skills? We need a Super Yoni Avatar or patch.

Luv ya, Bree. ;) I wanna be SUPER YONI WOMYN. Maybe it can be a new order of womynhood.

OMG, I have to go to bed, making no sense. ROTF.
