Thats what the dictionary says

Def of Prophet according to Webster
an effective or leading spokesman for a cause, doctrine, or group
Def of Prophcie according to Webster
the function or vocation of a prophet; specifically : the inspired declaration of divine will and purpose

The Gosple *IS* the divine will and purpose of God correct?

If you have read my post then you'd have no reason to continue with the snake handling bit.

hmm atleas the suggestions I'd chip in would actully properly show the chrasmatic movment...Seeing how I'm a PK and all

Yes, but being the PK of in a Church practicing psychosomatic abberations doesnt really mean you dont need to ask some questions.
It might just mean you have some very good sources for not-so-right answers.
One thing is for certain - whether or not you think God can allow prophecy to happen in your church certainly doesnt mean what you see IS prophecy.
    Same for speaking in tongues.
I cant thing of a time when anything meaningful came out of these things (in a modern church I mean) other than people getting superexcited because they 'think' they are seeing some supernatural occurance.
As pointed out.. the same phenom happens in Seances, tv show "mediums', Cults and stage hypnotism shows.
Id like to see a meaningful prophecy come true where odds beyond that of 'cold reading' and sheer chance or the inevitable 'hit' come true.
Im talking about the Pentecostals (tm) brand of 'Prophecy' here.

Do keep in mind also that my dad wasn't always a Pastor. he used to be a drunken abusive father pardon me if I've seen the whole "stopped drinking/smoking in one trip to the altar" thing first hand.

Here is a 'Prophetic Vision' about IBJ (as we call him):

Visions of Irving Baxter Jr. Vision received 7-27-2005
-In this vision, I saw a spirit that looked like iving baxter jr. who pastors oak park Church, and authors, and has a radio show, politics and religion and magazine, endtime ministries and maybe more and these visions make me have compassion on him and I wept or almost wept as I saw some of them. I would like to re-visit his Church, Lords will.
Irving baxter said things like, "fu_k visions", "tell'em", "file bankruptcy", "how embarrasing", "were financial here", "fooled", "I need your help", "adulterer", in this one, he said his name, "irving baxter", and, "control", "I need some money", "witch".
In this next bunch of visions, Irving baxter may have been like a white spirit in some and he screamed in some with sincerity and it makes me sad and broken as I type these.
Irving baxter jr. screamed things like, "miss Him", "write a book"(if it was the Lords will, I'd write the book and let oak park have it), "that will be my death wish", "Jesus don't hate me"(sadly screamed), "bob hate me"(sadly screamed), "glad Jesus left me", "I blasphemed", "can't beleive it", "you a prophet", "sunday school", "I love you", "yeah", "help me".
Maybe Jesus will let me anonymously visit oak park Church again.

I like how you give no sources, and how you probley did a mix of LSD and Coke while writing this. Sure seems like it...Dear God I could bearly read that! Maybe orginize it a bit better? I understand I don't have the best grammer on these forums, but my god man do you like to make things hard to read/understand? Or is it just the foundation of all your debates?

Thats just some prophecy some dude named Bob had.
Apparently God felt like He would reveal new revelation to man in the form of vague, pieced together sentences and odd catchprases etc?
We already have the Revelation of the Word.
Heck.. people are having ENOUGH problems just working through that before we need to get some new ones.
