    I have the Diva Cup...
It works really well, I'm happy with it. Sometimes I have to struggle a little though, to get it fitted in correctly. But all in all I am content with it. I don't get so dry and gross like I did when I wore tampons.

Then, I have a lunapad for overnight, because even though it's safe, I just don't like the idea of sleeping with the cup in....The lunapads are TONS better than regular, disposable pads, I think... less leakage, and it isn't all itchy like scratchy pads are.

    but back to the O.P.
These flushables sound like a nice idea for those who don't want to get a reusable product, because I know a lot of girls who don't, and for whatever reason think it's nasty.

I have a Diva cup and I'm still struggling with it a bit.
If I can't get the hang of Diva, I'll give Flushway a whirl (haha).

I'm trying reusable, but i've only tried them for one flow so far....it was okay, but not my favorite. Maybe i'll get used to it i dunno, i find they slide around way too much; i had to keep leaving the floor at work to go adjust it....But it beats spending money on and wasting disposables. You're right, they're super scratchy, and the plastc makes my thighs all super scratched up and sore. It's lame. And tampons now forever scare me. So it's either moonpads for these flushaway things for me....

i haven't seen them anywhere, but I'll bet these flushaways are probably pretty expensive

I didn't see any info about septic tanks and old plumbing. We, just yesterday and last Friday, spent more than $600.00 on septic tank pumping and RotoRooting our system, which backed up into the house, and that was just from TOILET paper.

We can't even put Kleenex into our toilets, or any other paper except Scotts, or that paper meant for mobile home toilets. Is there any info about OLD septic systems and this product?

Those who live in rural areas may want this data.

    Thank you in advance.

I bought my Diva cup a while ago. My body is very tight inside, so I still struggle with it. But eventually I hope to get more used to it. :)

Yeah, I'll admit, the first time I considered the reusable products, I was a bit turned off by the idea.

But, you're right, in the long run, the reusable products are FAR less expensive than disposable products.

It's especially expensive when your cat chews the crap out of all your tampons before you even get to open the box!

Anyway, maybe you should consider the Diva Cup...it's cleaner than any pad, and MUCH safer than tampons. As far as I know, there is no risk of toxic shock syndrome and the like [assuming thats why you are afraid of tampons]

    Just a thought...

Or has anyone tried those sponge things? Are those safer than tampons too? I was thinking they probably still aren't TSS risk free, considering they are absorbant... but, someone enlighten me if I'm wrong :)

They are not safer than tampons, if you are worried about TSS. Anything which can wick bacteria into the vagina, and stays there for a while can cause TSS. And seeing as how you don't use a new sponge every time, and most people don't sterilize them between every use, I would think the risk of TSS would be higher than with regular tampons.
