    Thats interesting.
I have seen Gary Miller speak (taped).
This reminds me of the conversion testimonies I saw here:
    http://answering-islam.org.uk/Testimonies/index.html

    Also Abdul Saleeb
    http://www.everystudent.com/wires/abdul.html

Lots of conversion stories over here too:
    http://www.exmuslim.com/

Of course.. not everyone converts to Christianity or anything spiritual because many convert to Atheism or something 'agnostic' like Ali Sina.
But there are lots of different stories here:
    http://www.faithfreedom.org/testimonials.htm

    An interesting site is http://www.apostatesofislam.com/
Again, not necessarily converting to another religion.
Some just becoming 'Theist' or 'Atheist'.

this one is really taking it to the totally secular level and even calls itself 'secularislam' which is pretty funny or weird in its own way.
    http://www.secularislam.org/testimonies/

I would have to believe you wont find as many Muslim converts to Christianity 'advertising' too much since the penalty for such a thing can be death.
    Shunning is bad too.
    http://www.connectionmagazine.org/2002_08/ts_former_muslim.htm

This is a 'Fun' website http://www.abrahamic-faith.com/

Heres a dude on the '700 Club' who converted from Islam and says "it is NOT a 'peaceful religion'"
    http://www.moriel.org/articles/israel/former_muslim_says_islam_is_not_peaceful.htm

    I thought this was interesting?

It's not surprising. Yesterday I grabbed a book off of the shelf of the library I hang out in. It had lots of stuff in it under various dates. I looked up my birthday, and it talked about those who embrace all religions as coming from God- each having its own place (in my opinion).

I look at different religions as different blessings from God.

    Peace Brother. :)

Here, I will type the passage from the book Sacred Intentions:
    The Truth Resides Among Us
    23 June
When God was about to create Adam, the first person,
Truth and Peace argued that God should not create
humanity. Truth asserted that if humanity were
created, the world would be filled with falsehood,
and Peace said that it would be filled with strife.
God then cast Truth to the ground.
    Midrash 19
Why did God throw truth to the ground? Because the Holy One realized that truth could not be a lofty ideal existing in the heavens alone, but had to grow from among the people. In other words, truth sprouts from the ground up. This notion is also suggested by the verse in the Psalms, "And truth will spring out of the earth."
Many adherants of various traditions believe that they alone have the Truth and that anyone who doesn't follow their prescribed path is doomed. But early on, the Rabbis saw the pitfalls of teaching such an exclusionary, fundamentalist perspective. It is not easy to see that views that differ from ours may have merit and worth, especially if they go against the very grain of our moral system. But this is a spiritual challenge worth meeting.
When was the last time you thought you knew the truth about a particular matter? Were you willing to hear others opinions and other viewpoints? Perhaps we need to let the truth tumble from its lofty heights. Truth dwells among us and between us, and its pursuit and definition lie in our hands.

Thanx for the links Erasmus, it now makes this a fair thread rather than a one sided one.

Maybe if the abandonment of Islam didn't carry a death penalty then more people would convert from Islam. I have an Islamic friend who would abandon his faith in a heart beat if he knew he wouldn't be killed by his own FAMILY.

Its one thing to be a non-muslim but its another if you are already a Muslim (converted or born into) and then reject it.
In part, this very strict intolerance to accepting but then rejecting Islam is premised in Muhammeds dealings with these types.
Once he allowed some non-believers to live after they accepted Islam.
They then denounced Islam and (in fairness to the story) they also murdered a man and stole things before escaping from Muhammed.
Muhammed had them captured, tied up, then cut off their hands and feet and hot nails put into their eyeballs.
Then let them die of dehydration and exposure.

Thats not to say its the penalty for anyone and everyone who accepts Islam and then rejects it.
These guys did also escape and commited a murder while doing it.
    But
Its sets a premise to the seriousness of such actions.

Was he there when the peace and truth argued God? Was he the eye-witness? Come on!

Many people interpret the verses according to their desires. Give proofs, you know when was psalms existed or written, no body I think understand it in this way at the time and for long times!!!!!!!!!!! Innovation.
different religions as different blessings from Godè never can be so, because if this is true then how you explain this, Muslims' God say that Islam is his only true religion and salvation, Christians' God say something else to them,, etc , in this case this is an utter mockery!!!!
However, this totally irrelevant to the topic, but yeah no use with some members.

No Islam won't abandon it, whoever wants to convert to Islam then, he is more than welcome and this is Allah's laws and orders for some punishments, and it won't be change, hehehe, regardless of this kind of punishment, who wants to convert to Islam that means he has to follow the laws, he will know the Halal and Haram, even if such punishment wasn't existed, he must not committed such sins, he must not break the laws!!!!!! He is a Muslim!!!! Or wants to be a Muslim, and when he will follow the law he will not be punished, why does he want to break the law, he is a Muslim, or want to be so!!! This is stupid, if I want to be a Christian then I should put in mind that I shouldn't steal for example according to the commandments, so I will avoid it and such order is for our benefit, why should I fear the punishment as long as I am a Christian who should follow the commandments!!!!!! Why are you embracing Christianity then! You should follow the laws, I wish you get what I mean, there are wisdoms for the commandants and punishments, it is all for our benefit at last. However, this is another irrelevant response.
By the way, such punishments are existed in the bible too, that because the God of the Bible is the same God of Quraan, I will post them in new threads.

Rather, tell him to fear the hereafter's punishment, well, it is ignorance, my challenge.

Catstevens.. you are agreeing that a Muslim who converts to Christianity (or Judaism, or Buddhism, Atheism etc) can be subject to severe punishment from fellow Muslims?

Im told that Muslims are to physically punish those who reject Muhammeds teachings?

    Please Clarify.

who apostatizes from Islam, his punishment is death, very true, this is Allah's law
If a person wants to embrace Islam then there is a covenant and he knows that if he will apostatize someday he will be punished.
but if he will return to Islam after apostatizing then the punishment of killing will be canceled; there is who apostatizes from Islam for reasons, for example misunderstanding of some verses and the like so after clarifying to him he can return and will not be punished.

Allah had created us and he is the only one who has the right to choose how is the punishment will be of those who apostatize from his religion, Deuteronomy 13. 2, 5: whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods…shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. God doesn't want this creature to be alive anymore exactly like me when I decided to kill my computer in the above example.

5- Deuteronomy 13. 6-9: If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die

    Peace and love Erasmus70 =)

Why are you quoting the Jewish Scriptures when you believe they are corrupted and are full of Errors?

I will thank you for admitting the punishment for an apostate is Death.
Now you are finally coming forward and I dont have to accuse you of practicing 'Taqiyyah'.

At least its true that Execution is fit for an apostate from Islam if you believe the Haddith.
I understand some Muslims reject the Haddith.
    Good for them!

Dear how many times should I say that I am not a parrot! I told you there are still intact verses and I already gave you the criterion
Admitting!!!!!! hehehe I can't believe this [IMG]
heheheheheheheheheh OMG OMG hehehe they deceived you, you even don't know when shall you use it, hehehehehe
Let me tell you about Taqqeya, at the beginning of the conveying the message at the time of the prophet, Muslims were too few, and some of them who embraced Islam were caught by Arab pagans who were torturing them harshly to leave Islam, so one of those Muslims who was a guy was caught, and the Arab pagans were torturing him with fire and other things and the pagans ordered him to say things which disagrees with the Islamic teachings to stop the torturing, they threatened him and were keeping torturing him until he praised their Gods and said what they wanted and he was the first Muslim who did that, then they left him and he was crying, the prophet saw him and told him, you said such and such, he said :yes , P: Does your heart remain firm in faith, G: yes, the prophet replied: if they will do that again , do (you) that again! And that's called Taqqeya to avoid death, but there were Muslims who didn't use it because they preferred death and torturing instead of saying such things. And Allah revealed this verse regarding this issue: Whoever disbelieved in Allah after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and his heart remaining firm in Faith; but such as open their breasts to disbelieve, on them is wrath from Allah and theirs will be a great torment.
who are they?!!![IMG]Are you sure mate?

No, I never did get the 'Criterion' you have for determining what verses are the Word of God and which are Corrupt or Forged (tampered, changed).

The only criteria you seem to have is quoting whatever 'sounds like' it backs up something Muhammed says... and disregarding anything that Muhammed disagrees with.

I have to admit, I do not know which verses of the Koran are just fiction made up from Muhammeds own sick mind, which are poetry he stole from his friends and those before him or which are taken from Greeks.
Also, I have considered that many Koranic verses might be inspired by Satan to bring death and destruction to peoples lives and hearts.

Many parts are just a clever but uneducated mans 'version' of Jewish and Christian scriptures he has read.
He tries to make them sound more legitimate by using 'eloquent poetry'.
    Oh great.

Muslims like you practice a modern form of Tagiya.
    For example:
You pretend to be giggling and laughing because you want to act like Taqiyah is only this old thing.
    No.
Its practiced for centuries by Muslims against other Muslims and now is revived on the internet by people like you who pretend as if you accept all religions and speak of loving wives and that Christians are acceptable to Allah and so on.
When we get to the bottom of this - we will find you are just a front for the real Islam which is obedience to law and ritual and 'Surrender' to Muhammed.
Islam meaning 'Surrender' and this is appropriate for a religion of enslavement, rules, laws, punishments and ruled with a sword.
    A Scimitar actually.
Mainly for cutting off hands and feet:

Leading to your real belief that all other religions must 'surrender' to Muhammeds Koran and then eventually you will help Isa to train us and finally YOU will be like our boss and we will look to you now.
This you believe will happen and you dream of it.

    As for the Hadith.
I cant believe you are asking me who rejects the Hadith?
I have met some of them in person but I know there have been 'Koran Only' sects through history.
Ive heard them called... 'Quurannies' (or this type of phrase) in internet forums by other Muslims anyways.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quran-only

Some of the Hadith are just fantastic for hilarious information or downright sickening accounts of the murdering, mutilation, raping and looting the Prophet of Death went on about.
Thats probably why some Muslims reject the Hadith.
    They are SANE:

"Those who permit silk will be turned into an ape or pig? Abu Dawud, Book 32, Number 4028:
    Narrated AbuAmir or AbuMalik:
AbdurRahman ibn Ghanam al-Ash'ari said: AbuAmir or AbuMalik told me--I swear by Allah another oath that he did not believe me that he heard the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: THERE WILL BE AMONG MY COMMUNITY PEOPLE WHO WILL MAKE LAWFUL (THE USE OF) KHAZZ AND SILK. SOME OF THEM WILL BE TRANSFORMED INTO APES AND SWINE."

You might think that is just some Allegorical expression which is just saying some of them will become rude and uncivilised but noooooo.... Muhammed was one crazyass muthafucka and in another classic moment of the 'religion of submission' the 'Prophet' and some monkeys kill a female monkey with rocks:

"Since when did monkeys get married and punished for adultery? Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 188:
Narrated 'Amr bin Maimun:"During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance I SAW A SHE-MONKEY SURROUNDED BY A NUMBER OF MONKEYS. THEY WERE ALL STONING IT, BECAUSE IT HAD COMMITTED ILLEGAL SEXUAL INTERCOURSE. I TOO, STONED IT ALONG WITH THEM."

Yeah.. those Hadith are just fantastic!

    [IMG]I really love this forum

Hey! I don't accept all religions nor Christians are acceptable to Allah, if people want to worship other Gods then this up to them, I accept their freedom of choice, Allah also commanded to don't force them to embrace Islam.
Quraan: there is no compulsion in religion, verily; the right path has become distinct from the wrong path…
Yeah the truth is so so so clear, even to the blind people who can hear and have an alive heart=)

For the real Islam, Oh, thank you Erasmus =)
BTW: To Allah, not to Muhammad, Muhammad (pbuh) himself surrendered to Allah.

Do you think so, I wish that my handsomeness will remain as it is now till that day. You won't look to me, you will gaze. One of Allah's favor upon me, thank you Allah.

Mmm that means that these sects are still existed, I see, ignorance, that's it. If they really believe in Quraan then Quraan says that you must believe in haddeths. Ignorance is really bad.

Not every haddeth is intact, this is true, mmm I think I should write a thread about it someday.

Flaming/Trolling: Flames are posts intended to insult and provoke. Posters who speak incessantly and/or rabidly on some relatively uninteresting subject or with a patently ridiculous attitude will be banned. Repeated posts directed with hostility at a particular person or group of people or their beliefs will be cause for banning. Any individual who chronically trolls, who regularly posts arguments, flames or personal attacks for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion will be banned.
Obscene/Pornographic/Violent postings: Unless these contribute something useful to the discussions, they will be deleted.
Off Topic Postings: Often people post remarks that have nothing to do with the subject of the forum or thread. Occasionally threads are deliberately taken off topic to advance an opposing agenda or disrupt the discussion. These posts will be moved or deleted at the discretion of the moderator, and the user may be banned. We urge all members wishing to discuss a new topic to start a new thread in the appropriate forum.
Banning: People who violate these forum guidelines repeatedly are subject to banning. Once someone has been banned from the site, we don't not allow complaints about it. Once banned, we are done with that individual, and no amount of complaining from other members will help. We don't need to justify our bans. This only causes more work for the moderators. Which is usually the reason for the person being banned in the first place. So those who complain about a banishment, are subject to being banned themselves.
Status: When you first signup to the HipForums you are our guest and as long as you respect our rules you will become a full member after your 100th post. Until then you have more restrictions than our members, in that some forums are only available to full members. Those who have chosen to join our community and support what we stand for will be granted full membership. Members who abuse their status may see it changed back to Guest as a warning that their behavior is unnacceptable. Further abuse will lead to banning.
Sadly hipforums, some people don't appreciate your kindness.

I love the fact that your Criteria for determining which lines of Bible Scripture are true and which are false is as follows:
(I swear, this is what you linked me to)

Dear can you read the title? The US plan of bombing Mecca!!! What is your problem, it is difficult to post your question in new thread?

    Great!
Excellent Criteria for determining why you use some Biblical verses but not others:
    Stop Asking is why!

I understand that YOU think the Hadith should be accepted but Im pointing out that there are some Muslims who reject the Hadith.
    Or
They accept the Hadith but do not hold them as 'Inerrant' and may believe parts of them to be false accounts.
    Along these lines.

I know they exist.. I had a long conversation with a 'Koran-only' Muslim and I dont think he was a Ghost.
    (or was he a Jinn??)

Do you mean a particular Haddeth (you're not using 's'), if so, which one and do you know why?

Not all haddeths are intact, there are standards, and special colleges just to learn this, the prophet (pbuh) gave us the standards, however, it is irrelevant.
BTW: you really can ignore all this, it is totally irrelevant.

Yes, you can go to college and thats how complicated the series of categories of 'acceptable Haddith' or who rejects which ones or which ones are 'Canon' and why some group puts more or less validity on this or that.

The last Muslim I had the in-depth discussions with on this pretty much rejected any that describe:
-Muhammed having sex with a Nine year old Girl (and/or fondling her etc)
-Muhammed and his Men slaughtering, raping and looting innocent civilians (caravans).

These he claims are lies and were written only to cause hatred and distrust of Muhammad.
    I can see his point.
The problem is that the 'Koran Only' does a good enough job on its own of describing a psychotic megalomaniac.
I dont know why these Haddith would be any more a problem other than going more 'in depth' on his atrocities, sexual and otherwise.

Also, he killed a monkey with rocks after believing it had cheated on its husband-monkey.
    Wow.
I was going to be sarcastic once and ask if Muhammed 'Killed small animals too' but it turns out HE DID.

    Thats your Haddith for ya!
