many of the people i talked to don't celebrate shrove/pancake tuesday ...i thought like everyone did... do you?
i know, but today i ask my friends and i find out that none of them do, well one says they sometimes do, but that depends on if his mom makes them or not... i always thought that basically everyone ate pancakes for supper tomorrow, but apparently not
Yeah we always did - with sugar n lemonjuice.. I'll have to get down to the parish of St Alfozo's (frank zappa reference)
Uh, well.. I think we've done it in the past, but not every mardi gras... i'm makin a big ole mardi gras dinner tomorrow tho. gumbo and hoppin john and stuff. and.. at school.. we're having the flapjack freakout.. i gotta help with that because its part of my foods and nutrition course... and.. the whole school is comin
Well.. Okay.. I've heard of it lots. But most people I know don't celebrate it like a damn holiday. ahhaha Most people I know do call it Fat Tuesday or they know its mardi gras... I don't think its a whole heck lot more common up here than it is down in the states..
see, that is what i mean, none of the people i talked to even knew about pancake stuff...even my christian friends (mind you, none of them are Catholic, and it is bigger with that group that prodestants) there was a commercial on the radio today for Albert's Family Resturant's pancake special tomorrow...all day 3 pancakes for a buck 99 I wish i lived near an Albert's
lolies.. dont people eat peas soup and chill in the snow? well we do it.. and ITS HELLY FUN, join us!!!
oh mayn, back in elementary school in host nation, we would always make pancakes on shrove tuesday (the british way, mind you, no bisquick!) and sprinkle sugar and lemon juice on them and eat them. i always so looked forward to it! but in middle/high school, i didnt have host nation so my shrove tuesdays just kinda faded into a distant memory and now that i am in the US, I have not heard one person talk about shrove tuesday ever.. i dont think they celebrate it over here.. which is weird, cuz WHY wouldnt anyone wanna celebrate a day dedicated to PANCAKES?!
