    From Sky News:

    END OF THE TRIP

Magic mushrooms, long the drug of choice for intellectual hippies, are about to be driven underground.

It is perfectly legal to buy the freshly-picked mushrooms as long as they have not been 'prepared' by freezing or drying them or using them to make tea.

The mushrooms are legal but the hallucinogen they contain, psilocin, is a Class A drug.

Stores, called shroom shops, have sprung up in most major cities selling the mushrooms.

There are thought to be between 200 and 300 such shops. The mushrooms are also available online.

Many display copies of a letter written by a Home Office official explaining why their trade is legal.

According to The Independent though, all that is about to change.

The Government, which recently launched a crackdown on yob culture, blaming the 1960s for many of society's ills, is moving to close the loophole.

Home Office minister Caroline Flint has told the shops the original information is wrong and they probably are breaking the law.

Three shroom shops have been raided in Birmingham and other cases are being prepared for court.

NO WAY! We can't let this happen!

They are legal, until dried or prepared in any way, then they become a Class A drug.
