Lately I've been investigating the effects of household products on our health and from the stuff i've read, it sounds really scary! I never really thought about how these chemically filled products that we buy affect us until now. I read a report from this site that tells all about the chemicals in our cleaning products and other stuff and what they do to our health and to the environment. (www.cleaningnatural.com/join) Today when I went into the supermarket i started reading the ingredients of all the products i bought... think i've become paranoid. I've managed to find natural products for most things but I really need to find a good natural womens deodorant... does anyone know of any cause I don't want to use anything with alumunium. I've tried a few natural ones before but they never worked to well.. can anyone tell me of some natural deodorants that do actually work and where to get them???
I use 15% zinc oxide, can get them in any pharmacy in the baby section. It’s used for diaper rash cos it keeps the skin dry and provides an uninhabitable environment for bacteria, these are the same properties you want in a deodorant/antiperspirant. The Zn oxide makes the skin uninhabitable for odor-causing bacteria for 1-2 weeks, so you only need to apply it every so often. The application is not as frequent as other pit solutions but it is messy and will rub off on fabric so apply it at bedtime and wear something to protect your sheets like pj’s, a nightgown or an old shirt. To apply, first the pores must be unclogged so abstain from any pit products for 3 days. Wash pits then apply the Zn cream to the pits, do not rub it in. In the morning enough will absorbed that you can wear your clothes. You may wipe off excess but I find it most effective if the cream is on for 12 hours before wiping it off. You are now odor-free for over a week and you do not have to do it again until you start to get a faint smell.
sadly not too much you can do at this point to avoid the problem, I mena you can attempt to reduce but when you see what goes into the process to extract, transport, package ect the "natural products" even then you see the problem is so large and out of control. We all sadly appreciate the convience of things alot, depend on them really. You go thou, any little nibble is one less addition to the problem.
You people need to stop caring so much about this shit. I mean you have an average of 70 or 80 years. So, fuck it, live life like you don't care.
Eat a healthier diet and exercise more, and you won't smell so bad. Bacterial odor is a sign of dis-health, mainly related to diet. Too much dairy, for example. If you keep yourself clean odor shouldn't be a big problem. 70-80 years of life is not good if it's spent in poor health. Most Americans don't even know what it really means to be healthy, because we live amid so much toxicity, have poor diets, and are too inactive.
Natural deodorant....if you can find J.A.S.O.N anywhere that's good stuff...Also comes in a recyclable container go here: www.veganessentials.com and look around at all the products they have for hygiene and such... they have natural deodorant, amongst other natural products The J.A.S.O.N. deodorant, I use, and I found it in the natural foods section at Pick N Save [a local supermarket] so it shouldn't be too difficult to find Otherwise, try looking at a natural foods store...or a health store. If all else fails, try out that link
I thought Aluminum (aluminum chlorhydrate) is found in anti-perspirants, not deodorants. I just use Old Spice original stick. It doesn't have any. I wouldn't worry though. I hear the hallucinations from heavy metal poisoning are pretty good. LOL
