i voted no because i dont stutter now but to be completely honest i used to stutter. i was a really nervous kid...lol too nervous to talk and i used to shake a lot too. i had a speech therapist and eventually got over the whole nervous thing. so yeah i dont stutter anymore wow im glad i got that off my chest
my brother james always stutters when he lies. it's kinda cute, if he was so full of shit. i had a telemarketer from qwest call me trying to go over my phone services, and he was so nervous that he sounded just like james and i got all nostalgiac. had to call my fucking brother.
stuttering has nothing to do with being nervous. in fact its usuallly the oposite, they're nevous becouse of the stutter. Ther has been research showing that it is casued by an actual physicle problem with the brain. the link is to an article on the bbc website on stuttering ( they call stuttering stamering in the UK) http://news2.thdo.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1912341.stm
well, whatever. james isn't a constant stutterer. he only stutters when he's nrvous & lying. therefore, he's a nervous stutterer. put that in the study.
I voted no, but that isn't exactly true. When I am really nervous around someone, I stutter a little bit for a few seconds... But 99% of the time, I don't stutter.
having a little stutter becuase your nevous isnt a stutter, its just normal nervousness. when I hear people say things like that I just roll my eyes. id love to be able to just stutter a little when im nervous, it would be a nice change for me. i do stutter, and bad. word repetitions, blockages, wierd noises, facial twitches, i have it all. I cant even say my own name some days, and thers fuck all i can do abut it. ive had years of speach therapy, and i just cant control it.
have you ever done any singing type exercises? i had to do those..i would sing everything i had to say :&
No, I don't have a stuttering problem. The teacher that I had when I took my private flute lessons in junior high had a stuttering problem. It wasn't constant, but at times, she'd have difficulties. She was a fantastic flute player, and was in the symphony actually. I always loved to listen to her play, she was absolutely phenomenal.
that exactly describes Tourette's syndrome, you know. It isn't always about screaming out cuss words. I stammer sometimes. It's like my mouth moves faster than my brain, and I repeat the same syllable while I try to figure out what it is that I'm trying to say. But it isn't stuttering. That is something different.
i watched this show that showed this awesome device they're using for people with REALLY bad stutters. basically what it does is play what they're saying into an earpiece at a slight delay, and somehow hearing themselves speak like this reqires how their speech centers work and there was one man who could barely get out a whole sentence his entire life speaking like he NEVER had a stutter. it was very moving.
I actually saw that show! It truly was amazing. I cried because it was just so touching and I felt so thrilled so that young man.
yeah. he was so cute, too. i hate to think of all the shallow girls who wouldn't go out with him because he had a speech impediment. now he's perfect: good looking and humble from a lifetime of difficulty and harship. it's like late-bloomer's syndrome in girls.
