thanks . i like raven. you're right, it's a little common. but if you like it, that's all that matters.
I was just thinking about this alot latley. I don't want to change my actual name, but get a nickname. Josh is just to plain for me, I like to think i'm more unique than that. For some reason I really like the name Ender. I'm thinking about going by that from now on. Not to sure. I can't really give you advice on a name, cause I don't know you, and never saw what you look like. But you seem like you would be an earthy natural kind of person with a strong and firey side. So somthing like ... pheonix, jade, amber, or cashmire might be cool. I don't know. I think if you feel like doing it go for it. You might not be around in 10 years to worry about it. =]
Adrienne sounds beautiful to me. But it's your choice. My ex-girlfriend was named Carol. She decided she didn't care for it and when she was in her 30's she told everyone she wanted to be called Kara and introduced herself as Kara to everyone new she met (including me). Most people went along with it except for her family who knew her as Carol for so many years. She still uses Carol for legal matters. Another friend of mine was named Harry. He wanted to be known as Eric. His girlfriend went along with it but everyone continued to call him Harry. He finally gave up on Eric. My real name is Glenn. I thought the extra n was unnecessary and started dropping it when I had to write my name. I finally decided I liked the uniqueness of the original and went back to it. I guess my motivation was to have more control over myself or try to change the past or something. I finally came to the conclusion that it's what I do, not what I'm called, that matters and accepted my name. Now I spend a lot of time correcting people who forget the last n! A name can have a big effect on how people perceive or treat you though. So if you want to take your life in a different direction, it could help. Consider Richard Starkey, a British drummer who liked to wear a lot of rings. He picked up the nickname Ringo because of it and changed his stage name to Ringo Starr and picked up a lot more gigs and the attention of John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Without knowing you better I have no idea what to suggest. I'ts really up to you. Good luck. P.S. I suggested earlier that you change your handle, but I think it's a pretty good one now. We're all patchworks of our experiences. It's not necessarily negative. It's what we are and that's allright.
My new name is (a pause of long suspense) Jade Cashmire Dominique Jade for short! I'm happy! I'm happy! I'm a happy Hippie! So...wwhat do u guys think?
if you lived here i could see you wanting to change your name to distinguish yourself from all the other adriennes .....very common name here ....
That's awesome ... Jade and Cashmire were two of the names I suggested! I knew you were a Jade all along. I think that sounds beautiful! *we all shine on*
