http://www.freewebs.com/jahraynebo/index.htm check the site above. you may notice that it has pictures with the ebay symbol on it, and all of the items are from some well known sellers on eBay or elsewhere on the net. One skirt is of Organicmama's and its up for bid on ebay. Another apron/skirt set was sold by Sunshine*Daydream on ebay. And so on with the rest. I found this site on the HippyBuggs shopping mall and i contacted the owner and told her to remove it from the listings. i also contacted the two mamas I mentioned above, and I emailed the scammer for a second time, once i realized that this was indeed fishy. I don't know if anyone else caught this as quick as me, but since i'm a stitchinmama and know lots of other mama's patchwork out there, i knew right away that all the items were made by different sellers. maybe you all can email the scammer (her email addy is under the items, where you contact her TO PAY FOR AN ITEM THAT IS NOT AVAILBALE. aughh this is so frusterating, why would someone do this?
haha oh and she says shes made thousands of items and so many patchwork pants for her husband-har har, even the outlandish way she talks about her experience screams fishiness. and it takes 2-3 weeks to make a pair of patchwork pants? thats the funniest thing...maybe if you work on them for 2 minutes a day...what a joke. and she's charging $139 for pants that she doesnt own and didn't even make. read her descriptions, they are totally made up and rediculous.
Very unethical. It's not uncommon though. I hate people that take credit for other peoples work. She's simply buying to resell... very obvious. I don't think she realizes that others do notice this behavior. Time to send an email to her... Matthew www.createapendant.com
She gives no personal information at all. Not even a picture of herself. Beware of people who won't even tell you where they live. I saw a site quite awhile ago...I tried to find it again later but couldn't. She said she was a doula, but anyway, she had 2 dresses that I recognised from phunkymonkey and was passing them off as her own work. She must have bought them from her, because she did have pic of herself modelling them, but the were too detailed to be a coincidence. She was selling them for more than I'm sure she paid. I would never want to have a lying, stealing doula...bad vibes for a new baby...
hey, do you have any of the original links to the original artists' work? i'd like to pass this info on. no i don't think she's reselling, not at those prices. i believe she's just outright scamming. 'selling' something she doesn't even have, stealing pics and claiming them as her own.
that is SO NOT COOL! i know that i would be really upset if someone was selling my creations as their own.
Being a jewelry artist... I sell my work to others to resell. A local woman bought a bunch of my work and I saw her at a local craft show. She was telling people that she made all the stuff she bought from me. I was kinda insulted but I did sell them to her to resell. I asked her about it and she's like... you sold it to me so why would it matter to you. Needless to say... I don't sell her anymore of my work. It's not the fact that she didn't give me credit... it's the fact she claimed that she had personally made it. Matthew www.createapendant.com
Ugh! Just the way she words things, everything is like "i have hundreds, i can't count how many on my fingers and toes, i have so many i can't wear them all". She seems very annoying, maybe just because i know she's a scammer. Some people.
yea well i emailed all the sellers on ebay who's pictures she stole, and i notified Diana on the hippiebuggs shopping mall site. it should be taken care of soon
didn't that sound like she was selling USED patchy? "I can't wear them all?" and yes, the camera logo from ebay gives her away: why not link to your auction that you supposedly have?
We run that risk when we resell. Paul and I would only sell a "generic" line of our shirts to resellers and we sold our high end line ourselves. We now occasionally sell a batch of high end shirts to a friend in another state, but he uses Paul's name to pull people in. I'm sorry you had to have that unethical woman as a customer. Will you sell to her again? and at a craft show, TURN HER IN, she went through jury saying the work was hers. A receipt from you will keep her out, and possibly get you in the show!
That is awful how that person has set up a website and is posing as the creator of all those pieces. I really hope no one has ordered from it! Side note: Is it bad that I signed up for a FreeWebs site and chose the same layout, but in pink? Heh, it's exactly what I've been looking for in a free web host... *Shakes head* Why do people stoop so low for money?
http://www.phunkybrewster.com/Organicmama.html Here's organicmama's skirt where she is selling it herself @ phunkybrewster.com.
I don't know if it's the same person, but this site is coming up in the search, after the other site was taken down.
http://www.jahraynebo.com/ ...did she just make a new site? one of the dresses has that ebay camera image on it...
