im considering playing a show with my band at a party this sunday night...while on 3 grams of mushrooms....ive never done them before, so i dunno if i will be able to handle it...like i sing.. so do you think i will be able to hit notes and such, or will i be too messed up to play a show?
you'll prolly be to messed up. i've only ate 'em once, but i wouldn't have wanted to be standing up having to preform. i played the drums a lot and i think it sounded alright but it didn't matter. my body was so heavy i could barely move. i think i talked pretty slow too so singing would've been tough. if the show doesn't really matter, eat 'em. but if you really wanna play good, i would say to eat 'em at a different time.
I dont recommend it. There is a lot more to be gained from doing mushrooms and other psychedlic drugs/plants than just being high. It has a lot to do with the environment. The first time I did a strong dose of a psychedelic I would have been too messed up to perform well. Every snare hit was like a bomb going off. If you want to be messed up while playing a show do something else, if you want to trip do it in a better setting. Peace, good luck, mkc
Yeah you won't be able to play, plus your taking too much for you first time. or maybe you could play..depends on how intense the trip is,and if your good or not.If you suck then you'll proabably sound even lamer. Listen to some of those 60's bands live albums..ones you know they were loaded on,they sound like shit. Check out hendrix at the ISle of wight festival,he smoke some kind of shit before he went on.That show doesn't sound too good.
it was rumored that hendrix used to put hits of acid in his headband and trip when he started to sweat onstage... I tried sticking a hit to my forehead once and nothing happened... I'd say it'd be hard to play a show tripping, because tripping makes concentrating on anything very difficult...
THey didn't just put acid on their foreheads, they made samll cuts intheir foreheads so that the acid would go straight to the bloodstream. Or at least that's how the story goes.
let me be the only person to HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOSING FOR YOUR SHOW. if you are a musician, you will find incredible lingering talent under the influence of psychedelics. when i am on shrooms or acid i play guitar twice as fast and can hit notes MUCH easier. it flows with ease and that applies to singing too. psychedelics open my chest and energy up and allow me to sing like no other. as for the disadvantages, there are a couple. if you have never done them before, you will MAY be too overwhelmed. also, there is a tendency to not follow rule when playing - if you have a certain song played a certain way, you may end up changing it randomly as the psychedelics make you temporarily ADD and uber-creative.... it's your choice. you may consider experimenting with music and psychedelics BEFORE doing it at a show. but after that, eat 'em for sure. good luck.
I dont think that you will play that well on mushrooms you will like stop playing and wonder why you are there and like what is the purpose of life and you will think everyone is staying at you and think that they know your tripping.
do you play any musical instruments? have you ever done so while tripping? i once played my guitar for hours and hours on end while high-sky on shrooms. i was tearing the hell out of the fretboard and hitting notes like a maestro.
yeah i was playing guitar on shrooms last night...its a wierd feeling...but it doesnt really decrease my ability. my fingers felt kinda rubbery and the fretboard seemed like a road...hard to explain, but yah go for it...hendrix did it all the time on acid. You can even see in some videos of him live how dilated his pupils were.
well, I'm divided here... On one hand, in an improv setting with a captive, *understanding* audience, an experienced tripper can transcend their own comfortable musical norms and give the witnesses a real treat, but the nature of trippin would make it nigh impossible IMHO to reliably play a whole show without losing interest, losing the audience, or otherwise getting caught up in some changes and marring the integrity of the performance. While coming down, though, it might be easier to push the limits or groove without a big possibility of something undesirable happening. In any case, get some experience first, and make sure you're in an improv group, or some kind of freakout / noise band!
If you are singing, it does alot for your voice. Everyone is different, but when I sing I get so much power inside. I can hold notes longer, and it is just very intense. Very beautiful.
