ah, yer the one with the tattooier than thou attitude. a rose by any other name smells as sweet, right? so who cares if it's tats, tattoos, tatus, ink, color, body art. usually i just call it 'work', like, 'nice work, man!'

and my karma's just fine. i'm not lookin down or up or even sideways at ya - just thought it was funny that you think it matters what tattoos are called, like yer the tattoo etiquitte guide.

it wasn't an etiquitte guide. tatts are called as such in prison, as i explained i believe, to mark the crime comitted by the inmate. so tattoos done in prison are called tatts because they are criminal remembrance of events. tattoos ARE body art, work, talent, and commitment, and while prison tatts can be this as well, tattoos are more associated with the art rather than the criminal intent or meaning. so i wasn't being a devil's advocate. i was simply stating the difference, and i don't believe that there really was an issue. if the person who started this thread has a tatt, then it is my wrong doing in correcting his vocabulary, but it is still good to know the history. and you should really try to learn old english before you speak it. it makes you look a lot less intelligent when you use words that don't make sense or have ambiguous terms. and i am not putting down your intelligence by saying that. i don't even know you. i'm just giving some advice, take it or leave it.

yeah, well i'm an old bitch and we never used to be so persnickity about what they were called. it's only since it's become such a fad that you have to say 'tattoo' not tat, and tattoo guns hafta be called 'machines' now. ink slinger is becoming a lesser term also, when that used to be an acceptable form of address for a tattooist. sucks, cuz i like the term ink slinger.

ok ,talking about proper use of terms...one cant get killed becouse of karma.Karma comes a few minutes after death in a form of a wind (the karma wind)most are ok ,as in most get reinkarnated as a person or animal.it takes something real bad like killing someone to be reinkarnated as pond scum or somethin.Sunshine allround,oh and in your gallery i like the photo of your tattoos (nice work)you titled the pic my boddy art tho.
    but nice work
    peace

haha. sometimes my keys stick. thanks. and thanks for the info on karma. i didn't know that. i was just frustrated. and i don't think terms are used because of the fad. tattoos are not a fad to me, though they are to the culture, and i still accept these terms because i see people who give tattoos as artists, and not just symbologists. but it doesn't even matter. this is a stupid argument that has far exceeded and undermined our maturity levels, and it is now over. call it what you want. i was just stating my opinion from an artists point of view.
