He got rid of like 800 acres of National Park to help education or something.

Great, more people tearing down forests...

How did that happen? He just cut the budget for student loans, so how does getting rid of forestland help education?

Magic. All members of the republican party are secretly warlocks. Except Dick Cheney, he just has heart problems.

This makes no real logical sense besides having more money available for education versus upkeep on the Department of Interior's part. :D

My neighbor ran Hungry Mother State Park, here in Virginia... and he's worked for the Dept. of Interior and in national parks, sooo... I'm going to bring it up with him too.

    Meanwhile, enlighten us.

    On a brighter note..

Forever Resorts operates a comprehensive recycling program at Big Bend National Park. Last year, the concessioner recycled nearly 43,000 pounds of plastic, aluminum, magazines, newspapers, paper, cardboard, and glass, while donating 1,500 hours of labor at the park’s recycling center. The program recycles an estimated 40 percent of the park’s waste stream, which will extend use of the park’s landfill by approximately 30 years.

Kids are the future, nature is the past.

Shit, you'd think the name conservative would imply conserving something important.

Seriously, we do. Kids over in some foreign countries come over here and breeze through high school like nothing because its like four years of elementary school to them.

No child left behind=educating our kids so that we can beat the Chinese or whoever else threatens our status as a superpower with technology

Cutting down the forests and global warming and neglecting environmental issues=the end of technology, of America, of superpowers and petty human conflict, the end of the human race altogether

I know. And I thought it was a bit asshole of you, but I have no room to talk.

It's not the education part that bothers me... It's getting rid of the national forest, destroying all of them animals homes to "evolve" our race...
