Check out William S Burroughs he rights some crazy stuff plus its like a glossary and he talks about all drugs he has done and stuff its interesting stuff kinda tirpped out though...
Yes, William S. Burroughs is a good choice. Plus the movie version of his "Naked Lunch" is a trip and a half.
This is a good thread.. we always hear about people asking about movies and songs about drugs, but Ive never seen one about books. Cool man, Ill check these out
You can read? JESUS chirst. (yes i ment chirst) cause the way you write is even worse then me, to bad the book isnt about drugs just has drug use in it. William S. Burroughs is awesome junky is a great book, naked lunch doesnt realy have much actual drug use or anything but he wrote it while dope sick trying to get off heroin again. transpotting is good, requiem for a dream is good as well. for non fic go onto erowid they have ALOT of books about drugs
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson... So much better than the movie in my opinon. Hep-Cats Narcs and Pipe Dreams: A History of America's Romance with Illegal Drugs is a pretty cool book. Non-Fiction book documenting drug use in america. Tihkal and Pihkal by Alexander Shulgin. They are resources for information about a lot of psychadelic drugs. http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/pihkal/pihkal.shtml http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/tihkal/tihkal.shtml The Emperor Wears No Clothes: The Authoritative Historical Record of Cannabis and the Conspiracy Against Marijuana. Never read it myself, but I heard it's a great book about why Marijuana is illegal and some of the great uses for hemp.
if you want a good detailed indepth autobiography about drugs pick up anthony keidis's scar tissue if you dont already know him hes the guy in the red hot chilli peppers he vividly discribes his adictions to heroin and many other drugs including weed lots of stories about how he first smoked pot and did coke when he was a kid great book you would like it even if you dont like the chilli peppers
The classic Alduous Huxley essay "The Doors of Perception", about his experiences taking mescaline. On the Road by Jack Kerouac may have some things about drugs in it, I don't really remember. It's a fairly good book nonetheless (Dharma Bums is better, though).
