Has Anyone read Go Ask Allice?

Have you read go ask alice? Its a really good book. If u havn't read it then you should definetly go buy it or check it out at school or your local library!
I one of the best books i have ever read!

 

The thing is, it is a sham. It was NOT written by a real girl, who became a drug addict. It was written by an adult womyn, who also claimed to have "found" diaries from kids who were prostitutes, devil worshippers, anorexics ect.

It may be interesting reading, but is it NOT true, and if you read it, read it as fiction, because that is what it is. Maybe fun to read, but, when I read it, when it came out in the early 70s, it made me want to do drugs. Not the "editor's" (actually the author's) intention.

Here is a great article on the truth behind this long beleived urban legend. Fun reading, maybe, but "Alice" never existed, and there was no diary. Just a middle aged womyn, trying to write a "just say no" epistle.

I've been wanting to read that. Drugs (among other things) have made me pretty unstable, and my friends who have read it said that I could probably relate. It doesn't really matter if its fiction or not, its still the same book...

 

Books are like songs, they mean different things to different people.
