No man the new power idea is terrible... Your best bet would be wind, alot of solar panels (pricie), or water... I think it would be best if you go with wind. But if you score a place with a river (like its really wide), can create some hydro power.

    DUDE!!!!

If you can't support the slaughter of a few miscreant flying rats here and there for the huge beautiful benefit of WIND power, then I couldn't lobby my support to your effort. I'm a huge fan of wind power.

    Here's a dream I've always had....

take a picture of the Berkshires

and add text saying, "Can you make the Berkshires more beautiful?"

    and copy the same picture

with the text, "YES" and photoshop in hundreds of windpower machines. BEAUTIFUL and enough nonsence of the NIMBY thing. build them on my house, please!!!!

I have not heard of a case where a bird has flown into a wind turbine for power generation. airplane yes(airplane moves fast...), grounded no. I have heard though that if you have a lot of them in one spot it does tend to make some noise and scares the birds away.

It's fairly easy to rig up something for human created power. for instance you can make a treadmill, but I would go for something geared that way once you have it going it keeps on easier and generates more power out for less power in. something like a human sized hamster walking cage thing, geared, and hooked up to a motor shaft. the motor conneted to a ac/dc power converter and then to a battery charger/battery bank. I really don't think it's viable as a source of energy for anything big though. would power lights and maybe a radio or tv. thats about it. might be able to power a water pump, it depends on a lot of things.

Ever thought you can make soup fromt he birds that die from the turdine... MMmmhh that would be interasting.

You can go steam powered... More complicated, and you can use wood, for that...

    Not eating birds...pleh

wind power kills thousands of birds inj the states every year, americans has this funny thing where they(coperations) put whatever they want wherever they want to...such as huge wind farms. then these "farms" end up being in bird and/or bat migration routes...these birds don't know they put up turbines through their routes...they fly right into them. not just the spining parts, the beams everything...most of the wind power generators are too low to the ground...if they were higher up, it wouldn't be as much of a problem....

but when it all comes down to it it's either, get rid of everything we have go back to the dark ages, kill our planet with our other power sources, or a few thousand birds die.... I really don't know..i'd rather solar..but it costs too much...

Listen man... Your not going to have a whole field full of this stuff. You most likley going to have one. That one is mostly going to kill what... Barely anything. Or just start stealing solar panels from places...

I really like the power idea man, only for music sake, music is a celebration of freedom, and no better place to celebrate that freedom in the woods with your tight commune, but electricity takes away apreciation for things like a fire warmed bath, or the experience of listening to someone you know accel at their talent in creating music, so its really not that simple of a call.

indeed...I would like to have a radio, or learn an insrument. I dunno though, electricity will be one of those things we will decide once there. I am pretty sure we will go with a small source of electricity. I really don't want to spend my day making candles.
