Have any of you guys seen the movie "Wonderwall" with Jack MacGowran and Jane Birkin? It has a class soundtrack by George Harrison and is a great embodyment of '60s psychedelia. In Ireland - and probably rest of UK?? - it's taken as a hippie flick extrordinaire, right up there with other great UK hippie shows like Nic Roeg's "Performance" (starring a grooovily stoned Mick Jagger).

I would really recommend "Wonderwall" to you psychedelic party-hounds if you haven't seen it. The reason this is on my mind is that I've been corresponding with hippy dudes who haven't heard of it before. Fairly brakes me old heart that does!

Mind you, my fav UK Hippie flick is DEFINITELY "Withnail and I". Masterpiece!!!

By groovy coincidence, I was at a '60s Hippy night last night in a local club and they were projecting Wonderwall onto a big screen. Trippy!

    Yes I've seen:'Wonderwall' & didn't like it.

Don't get me wrong; the George Harrison soundtrack of Indian Raga & sitar music is superb & aurally exotic also Jane Birkin in various risque poses & karma illuminai is enjoyable. It's just that the film has no purpose.
Jack MacGowran is funny as the Professor but nothing in this film make you feel that it is a psychedelic-cinematic experience. It's all glossy dross.

I don't know of many U.K. Hippie films. The all-time best hippie film in my opinion was a documentary: 'The Monterrey Pop Festival June 1967' by D.A. Pennebaker.
In terms of a 'head-film' ,I dunno......maybe: 'The Trip'-1967 by Roger Corman which starred: Peter Fonda. It would fall into the category of L.S.D. trip film but generally is a shoddy & empty film.
