my opinion on smoking, alcohol = the tmp replacement

So this shit has been getting to expensive to buy..you got a job, but you have to straighten out your priorities. in reality you only started smoking for the enjoyment, just like everyone else. but i guess some people abuse the joy of smoking, which is probablty the most common mistake.

i think once you realize you have been spending to much $ on pot you realize its time to cut back and realize its just a fucking simple excuse to reality..but im sure there are a shitload of freeloaders/rich kids that can have the joy of smoking while getting their life straightened out, or maby they have alot of friends that smoke them out.. or maby they didnt fuck up in the first place, this wasnt the case for me.

but for the poor kids with a part time job and no family to rely on for financial aid/ or no motivation, you really gotta be careful and not let the fun take over your life and fuck up your future, cause the responsibility is so important in that situation. where if you fuck up just maby once or twice you are a gonner.

im not looking for arguement or anything , im just expressing myself and trying to save other people that feel they are in the same situation from screwing themselves over, cause most people dont care whether that happens or not. its always good to throw your drunken opinion out there.

yea vodka is hella cheap, for 100 proof its like $10 which will get you so fucked up its not even funny. bud, is a good alternative experience, no doubt. but i think it has been taken advantage of by the government and drug dealers, and the smart people are using it to make huge amounts of money, like a private unregulated product.

i guess this is only useful to the young people that have just started smoking..watch out..everyone is for themselves.

I would rather smoke than drink anyday. You don't get sick, obnoxious, and we all know the toilet prayer, "Please God, if you'll just make me feel better, I'll never do it again," Yet we always do! Don't get me wrong, I've gotten my drunk on many, many times and will continue to do so. However, I know I can take care of my kids, drive, and function like normal when I'm smoking...No way could I do that shit if I was drunk! Plus I usually end up injuring myself while drinking so it's best for all if I smoke

 

my post was not intended for people with an established life, house/kids/car etc, because of course in that situation it will be a better then alcohol.

alchohol isnt cheaper than weed unless youre buying the cheapest vodka possible (over here a really cheap bottle (700ml) of vodka is a few bucks more than a gram of weed). and then, its only cheap if you arent drinkning it as much as you smoke weed. if you did, youd be a total alchoholic whod churn through alchohol at dangerous levels.

if you wanna save your money, pick up a bottle of valium or something, that shit is cheap as ass (less than half the price of a bottle of vodka for a bottle of 50 valiums) and will make you as content as a mollusk in a.. mollusk place

There are incredible amounts of alcoholic parents out there. Its almost accepted. I'd rather have my kids see me being the one parent on the block getting stoned and watching concerts all night than the alcoholic dad getting smashed off his ass playing poker all night and throwing occasional drunken tantrums.

The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that the latter father figure is more accepted in many cases...

 

It depends on what is going on when she does it. Where her kids are, if they are exposed to it, all that shit. And who are we to say whether or not she is a good mother? Have you ever watched her and her kids? I haven't.

First of all I do NOT smoke in front of my kids, second of all who the fuck are you to pass judgement on me? My 17 year old daughter has a 4.13 GPA, is in the National Honor Society, is in speech club, yearbook staff, already in her junior year completeted 2 credits for college, and will be graduating early next year. My younger 2 are also straight A students, who participate in basketball, baseball, and my 13 year old daughter volunteers at church and the animal shelter. So apparently it's cool when I'm a hot stoner chick and you wanna see naked pictures of me...

but not when I'm a good mom. Whatever.

Yep, I have talked to my kids about all kinds of drugs, tried to explain that there's a difference between a plant that comes from the earth and one that's made in a basement with Draino. About 2 years ago, I took my kids to the Mpls. Uptown Art Fair and I stopped to sign a petition to legalize marijuana. My youngest daughter, then 11 who had just completed DARE program freaked out and got really upset. I sat down with her and I gave her facts about how marijuana helps people who have cancer or other diseases, people who are terminally ill, etc. I told her that there is a difference in choosing a drug that can help you, and one that will make you sell your soul. I also explained to her that there can be consequences in the choices she makes. I have had this talk with my oldest who was 14 at the time. They have seen me come from being on so many anti-depressants that I could barely function, to the person I am today and I've explained why. I would never, ever let my pot smoking interfere with the beauty of my everyday life, and I will not lie to my kids. Granted they don't need to know the explicit details and probably believe that I only smoke occasionally, but at least I am honest with them. I don't know if any of my kids will ever smoke, but if they do, at least I know that I have shown them a good example and know that they can come talk to me about anything at anytime. (and they do!)

Alcohol is a physically addictive substance.
Marijuana is mentally addictive, supposedly, though there are no real studies to back that one up. So, on that note, I personally would not advocate the use of alcohol. But if you're about to light one up, count me in mofo!
Toking and drinking together is loads of fun though!
I think what we all need to realize is that moderation is key. Don't mix more than two things at a time. And STAY away from chemical shit. (coke, heroin, x, blah blah blah).
