anyone else into them? they have this really unique and catchy sound. and the singer is fuckin nuts. he reminds of jim morrison if he was singing in the new millineum. but thats just my opinion.

I've heard their new album is good, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet.

    They suck ass.

"the strokes, the white stripes, the vonbondies, the white hives"
-No, the pseudo retro fad is not cool.

You should be ashamed to have a pic of Nirvana in your sig and then publicly say you like the strokes...Or are you one of those girls that just like Nirvana cuz they think Kurt was hot?

oh okay [IMG] well you said I should be ashamed......but i really am not......i Love the strokes (well they are not in my top 10 of fav musicians, but they are ace). Well I have enjoyed Nirvana for years and years…….and not because of Kurt’s looks (I think…..no seriously) :)
p.s i agree with you on the white stripes. Do you like Nirvana?????

I know this comment wasn't directed to me, but,

Everyone is such a music snob here... including myself...:p

It's interesting to hear people say that someone shouldn't listen to so and so, just because they don't like them and it's a fad... lame:rolleyes:

I like the strokes, and nirvana, and phish, and the roots, and built to spill, etc., etc. My music taste is so eclectic..

I guess I just buy into all of the fads.:)

Scott Weiland has awesome stage presence...I also see a little of Jim's influence in Julian too. I was at my friend's house listening to "Juice Box" on the radio. They were rockin out man!!!

Were they awesome live? I'm seein' them in concert in a few days. I'm excited! I'm not really the biggest Strokes fan but I do like their music. Certainly enough to enjoy a concert!

I saw them on a show called 7th Avenue i believe. I think they sound really good. Julian doesn't remind me of Jim Morrison though. However, as i stated earlier in this post he seems influenced by The Doors. It's nothing surprising because alot of bands are. Alot of singers are infact trying to be Jim Morrison. I think they should forget about that and try being themselves. Don't be a copycat! :)

Heard their new album. Quite good. Prefer their first album though. Don't think they are in the same league as the Doors though.

yeah i was thinking that too. i cant see any similarities with that. I really like the strokes but the doors WOAH they are just amazing. I've heard Julian really idolises Jim Morrison and shows it throygh music. i havent really noticed it tho. but then again i havent really listened to enough.

Yeh, you can certainly tell he's startin' to want to be more like Jim Morrison just from the way he dressed at their concert a few nights ago. I liked it though, he's probably the biggest talent in the band! They put on an amazing show!
