so yeah.. this spring I took a bunch of seeds and spread them randomly throughout the garden on the side of the house here and to my surprise I woke up seeing this beautifully multicolored poppi in full bloom!!! So my question is....does the pod grow after the flower has blossomed? and when its full grown then the pedals fall from the flower and harvest? There is no pod under the flower right now so I'm guessing it begins to grow now that it has flowered is that correct?

Yes, that's pretty much how it works. When the flower is pollinated a pod will form with seeds inside, and you can start milking.

yeah, give it about 5-10 days. the crown on top will be pointing downward now, wait untill they begin to point upward and the pod has taken on a bluish hue.
