Seriously, I had no idea that "pictures of the prophet" were banned in Islam (nor did I give a damn when I found out). I'll admit, I am a scheming, money-hungry, American. There are few countries which actually mean anything in this world, including the two N. American countries, most of Eastern Europe and the U.K, and Australia. There are a few more I did not mention. The rest, namely the middle east, I could seriously not give a damn about. They are the ROOT of all problems in the world. If they were turned to dust, it would be the greatest thing that ever happened, just so I wouldn't hear about all of the senseless bickering over a damn useless religion. I wish that the middle east had NO oil whatsoever and that all oil fields were in another part of the world. This would completely kill the middle eastern countries and take their one and only resource. Oil is what gives these countries any voice whatsoever. It gives them what little power they have. Those countries are useless to me. Be done with them.
I for one think its good that the rest of the world finally see's a prevaling mindset among many of these Muslim Nations. People are absolutely blind in the West (and elsewhere outside the Middle East) and are full of downright dangerous false beliefs that, if we only act really nice and be sensitive and help them that will make them like us. Obviously, this whole 100 murders and arson frenzy over a cartoon depiction (which I agree most people never knew was forbidden) is all the evidence you need to see the insane hatred that exists towards the West. It runs deep and poisonous throughout Syria, Iran and just about any of the predominatnly Muslim nations. Make no mistake about it - they hate your allahdamned guts and are absolutely convinced you and your whore women should be subjegated to the one and only true religion. That of the Prophet Muhammad and his Islam. The whole world will surrender to Islam and whatever end most definately does justify the means. I strongly agree that we should be doing anything and everything possible to reduce our dependancy and addiction to Oil. At least enough that we dont need to be importing it anyways.
We Are All Mohammed Now Aaron, in a comment on this post, gave me an idea. Instead of all of us being Danish, let's just all be Mohammed. There are many advantages to living this way. The Danes and everyone else are on the defensive concerning this issue. By being Mohammed yourself, you get to go on the offensive. And the best defense is a quick offense. If you are Mohammed, and someone takes your picture, you may behead them. Especially if it's that obnoxious relative you prayed wouldn't show up at the family reunion. You get to breeze through security at most major airports. You get to rape, pillage, and burn at the most minimal slight of your name. Everyone will add PBUH after they refer to you. So, from this point on, anyone who comments on my posts without the name Mohammed, or one of its derivates, will be summarily deleted.* Of course I, don't have to change my blog name to Mohammed. I am granted free license to be a hypocrite. Because we are all Mohammed now. You just have to change your name to Mohammed. Mustafa and PBUH are also accepted. So are Pedophile Prophet, Pedophile Pimp Prophet, and actus.
gee, I'll run a cartoon of a crucifx suspended upside down with televangelist jerking over it... but that's OK, I'm not Xtian.... run one, run both.
Theres no question you can do that. A few years ago there was the 'Piss Christ' exhibits. A Crucifix in a Jar or Urine. This guy called it Art. You gotta remember, everyone else has all the rights in the world to to protest it and call the guy a moron too. The Muhammad thing is interesting. I dont think anyone in general has any idea that you cant depict him (accord, Muslim traditions). Like you say, its not Muslims doing it either. I dont expect that Muslims must refer to Jesus as God Incarnate just because Christians do this. The next retarded thing has to be the confusion over who is depicting Muhammed. Is it Denmark. Did Denmark, as a Nation depict him. NO. But these people come from countries where they have State-Run Newspapers. They actually think that the state of Denmark (as a nation) did this and cannot understand that SOME PEOPLE in Denmark did it. The next issue is that of Clerics who definately preplanned this and have orchestrated this. Those Cartoons appeared in what.. September? At least one of the Iman was caught including false images (which were not of Muhammed but actually a man dressed as a pig for a rural fair) and falsely accused them as being part of the series. But without a doubt, the most obvious problem here has to be thousands of people pillaging, murdering, attacking Christians and burning Danish Flags over a Cartoon But Where was the damm outrage when Bin Laden murdered 3,000 Civilians in the Name of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad?! People shouting 'Allah Ahkbar' as they slice open a persons head with a rusty kitchen knife (Allah Akbar.. Allah is Great) You would THINK that a MILLION Muslims would be OUTRAGED and demanding Bin Laden apologise for grossly insulting Allah and Muhammad? Nope.
They are outraged, but unfortunately Al Qaeda does not have any embassies to burn. Protesting against a terrorist group as vague as that is folly, even the most fearful and brainwashed Americans the midwest has to offer do not meet in large groups to protest 9/11. Its simply absurd. I do agree that the protests against these cartoons have gone way to far, but you must understand the hurt that it has caused Muslims worldwide. The most offensive drawing was the one that depicted Muhammed as a fanatical suicide bomber (which is becoming more and more of a racial stereotype for Arabs, and indeed all Muslims) and they take this as a direct assault on their religion, which many hold very dearly. To draw comparisons, suppose some cartoons of the Jewish Prophets were published, depicting them as money-grubbing theives and nit-picky losers, it would undoubtedly cause the firing of the publisher and perhaps a few large scale protests, but this would convey only a small amount of rage compared to the drawings, because of 2 reasons: a) There is no Jewish Prophet as highly revered in all of Judaism as Muhammed is revered (but not worshipped) in Islam, the Christian/Jewish reverence for Ezekiel or Moses is small in comparison to Muhammed, who Muslims believe as the sealer of Prophets and the one who brought the complete and uncorrupted word of God. That belief earns him a huge amount of respect b) Calling him a suicide bomber is basically calling Islam the religion of suicide bombers and witless fanatics. It is as much an insult to every single Muslim who sees these cartoons as it is to Muhammed himself. This is really the final straw on a list of transgressions the west has made through its use of media against the Muslim world. The problem isnt at all that muhammed can not be depicted under any circumstances and the cartoons violate this, for instance the Muslim tradition of not depicting such great prophets extends to all the prophets of Islam, including Jesus, yet we do not see massive protests over crucifix's or the last supper. The problem is that the way Muhammed was insulted was an insult to all Muslims everywhere. It is comparible to a mainstream newspaper printing cartoons that make fun of (and attempt to justify in their jest) the holocaust or the lynchings of southern blacks.
One thing about Cartoons - they are not necessarily asking for a certain interpretation. Some say that is the way some good ones should be. For Example: Is that cartoon really depicting Muhammad as a Terrorist Bomber? You can think of it that way. OR If you are like me, my first 'interpretation' was that the Cartoon was asking me to question the 'explosive' nature some of his teachings might have in this present time. OR You might be a Moderate Muslim (who is against suicide bombings) and this might be seen as the artist 'asking if this is what its come to?' as far as the way some people are portraying Muhammed. We most definately have seen all kinds of cartoon depictions of Moses, Jesus and even Buddha or Vishnu etc. Sometimes very 'critical' depictions which can say or mean different things depending on the viewers way of 'taking it'. In the case of the Muhammed Cartoon with a bomb on his head I think the artist deliberately did such a thing that would be seen differently by different people. Now here is the 'funny' thing: The artist might be getting the 'last laugh' on everyone because ultimately the depiction of Muhammed Head DID ignite a bomb, some murders, fires and destruction by those following the ideas 'in his head'. The thing though.. its not much of a stretch to portray Muhammed as a terrorist because he did actually kill, murder, pillage and loot a whole lot of people. So, in this case its not really that much of an insult considering that its mostly based on real things commited by Muhammed. But I think the point remains - Non-Muslims are NOT held to Muslim rules. How does this work now? Are women going to wear Habibs in Denmark or should I stop eating Pork? Seriously, if I demanded you stop denying Jesus was God, I highly doubt you would agree to do that. Should you have to observe my Churchs requirements and refer to Christ as God? I dont think that will happen but EwokUtopia and CatStevens believe it and whatever does help and cause that to happen is therefore 'given by God'. Now, thankfully, they dont think use of force will work - so therefore use of force is NOT the way to go. IF Use of force could work - then its acceptable and 'worth it' if it means the world comes under the house of Islam. There is something about Islam that most people outside Islam do not really understand. Islam is different than almost any other religion on the planet. Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism (and most any others) do not really have anyting to do with Political, Economic or 'Government' situations. (people can try but anyways...) Mexico does not have a 'Roman Catholic Government' or Japan doesnt have to be 'Under Buddhism'. Islam is different, its not just a 'spiritual' life but its also, and at the same time a political, economic and governing system. Nations themselves are to 'become Islamic' although there may be Christians or Jews under Islam (but they pay extra taxes) the point is that Islam is a religion AND a government and a socio-economic system. Ultimately, it not just that Islam is to spread throughout the world (meaning believers everywhere) its meant that all the nations of the world will fall under 'Islam Rule and Law'. So, when people start to understand that difference I think you begin to see a bit more why a nation like Iran is acting the way it is. It actually helps everyone understand each other when you know this. Am I right Ewok?
I'm English to the core, I'm not Islamic, but I realize the Muhammad cartoons were offensive because I have respect. But I'm even more offended by Muslim protesters burning embassies and killing people over it!
speakin of iran, Iran protests Jesus and Mary cartoons The Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan yesterday protested the publication of cartoons of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary by an Azerbaijani newspaper. The Yeni Khabar newspaper published the cartoons in retaliation for the publication of the Prophet caricatures. While condemning caricatures of the Prophet, the Iranian Embassy also denounced the Azerbaijani publication as "rude and immoral insults" motivated by either ignorance or a desire to provoke discord between Muslims and Christians
That's kind of retarded for 2 reasons. 1. The cartoons weren't specifically a Christian thing, so trying to ridicule Jesus doesn't really bother that many people. Most Christians wouldn't care anyway. 2. Jesus was a prophet in the Qur'an right? So aren't they insulting that and thus Allah? If 2 is true, does that mean other Muslims are now going to be outraged at that and kill a bunch of people in protest?
give someone the respect they deserve- and everyone deserves respect. If you want to live in a multi faith world and not come up against criticism you have to educate yourself to what is acceptable to say and do. Everyone is concious- everyone can hurt. Get that onto your head. You have to be the one to start repecting the world around you, no matter your faith on non faith
