    Valentine’s Day is coming up rather soon, and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas of what I could get my boyfriend. On Valentine’s Day, we will have been together for a year and 8 months, so I want to do something really special, and get him something good, but I can’t really think of anything good enough. I want it to be perfect! So… if you were him, what would you want?

    Thanks

    I'm really asking myself the same question, sorry that i can't answer that for you but
    maybe i'll ask him to get a room in some beach hotel to spend the night together,
    if u are able to do that too maybe you should think of it. :)

    Hi Random Zephyr :)

    When I was 16 this is what I did for my boyfriend/future husband. I got a sheet of red posterboard & wrote out a love letter to him, substituting in as many candy-bar words as I could come up with. I don't remember it all, but it was something like this:

    I can't wait until Saturday, when I can give you MOUNDS of HUGS. Even if my little sister SNICKERS, I still think you're the sweetest BIT O HONEY ever.

    I'm sure you get the point, and can come up with something better :) I also planned a picnic lunch for us. It was a silly idea, as there was 5 feet of snow on the ground, but I packed tons of blankets into the car for us to sit on & had hot soup in thermoses & all the fixings for grilled ham & cheese sandwiches that we cooked in the park. It was fun & memorable... my husband still tells people about our romantic picnic :) and I think I spent a whopping $10 on everything!

    Good luck :) I'm sure you'll find something wonderful to do!
    love,
    mom

    that is adorable! i love the letter idea! thats the cutest thing ever. i was thinking about a picnic, but it is pretty cold this time of year. haha. although with global warming we barely have ANY snow right now (and i live in CANADA). usually its a few feet deep, but there's like... grass showing and everything.

    hmm, well, for the six month anniversary with my first boyfriend, I built us a fort in my basement out of the couch and some chairs and a spare mattress we had, and we had dessert down in there and made out for a while hah. But, the building of the fort was super super fun, and he -really- liked it (I was 16 at the time, so, it may seem a little young but also kind of reminiscent if you were a fortbuilder as a kid... good fun)

    what is he into that you aren't as much, but can be a good sport about?
    I have a friend who took her sweetie to some laser tag place for a surprise.
    Paul just wants shows and dinner (I mean concerts, alas... no strip tease here) so he's easy. I should do something different this year.

    Absolutely... 2 weeks before we were married I asked my fiance what he wanted for Valentine's day. I told him I would cook or do ANYTHING (so long as we didn't break our moral codes) that he wanted.

    Know what he said???

    "Could you pretty please make me mac 'n cheese with hot dogs cut up in it? The box kind, not that macaroni you make with the white sauce 'n all that fancy stuff, just the fake cheese stuff."

    I could not believe it. I offered him the world, and he wanted "craparoni 'n cheese" with meat-stuffed plastic tubes!

    Now I also made him dark chocolate mousse with fresh raspberry sauce to drizzle down the sides & served him his yukkaroni on a borrowed fancy china dish with sparkling grape juice. And *I* had a loverly dish of linguini. But does he remember that? Nope, just that I cooked him something I didn't want to JUST because I loved him.
    love,
    mom

    you could make a reservation at a nice hotel and have the room ready with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries (and fluffy handcuffs--yes they WILL do this for you), a jacuzzi for two, a king size bed, and a balcony over looking the vista.

    that's our plan at least. i bet anyone would like that for valentine's!

    haha, that sounds interesting, PurpleGel, but... again.. i'm only 16 and have no job! hahaha. the mac n' cheese thing is funny!
    i think i've decided that i'm going to make him a homemade card with doilies and glitter and construction paper. haha, and some heart shaped cookies with pink and red frosting, and a pie (he loves pie and always jokingly tells me "get back in the kitchen and bake me a pie, woman!"... haha what a charmer!). i'm also going to make a flip book of our relationship... like... two stick people kissing and in the background, as you flip it, it changes seasons for all the time we've been together, and i'll have our hair change (both of our hair has changed a lot sinse we've been dating) and i'll make him grow taller. haha. he used to be sorter than me.

    i still have to think of one more cute little gift to get him. hmmmmm.....

    thanks for all of your help so far! sorry i take so long to reply!

    from a girls perspective the most romantic vday i ever had was the "one week of romance"

    start wed 8th of feb
    Day 1 - one balloon that says "I Love You";
    Day 2 - two love songs, some taped and some written words, that mean something special to us;
    Day 3 - 3 single flowers;
    Day 4 - four message heart candies;
    Day 5 - fice deep meaningful reasons (of the millions) why you love her
    Day 6 - six Hershey's hugs and kisses;
    Day 7 (Valentine's) - say "I Love You",in 7 different languages (link at bottom of page of i love you in almost every language). then iuf you want ot get really corny/romantic a trail of petals leading to a candle light dinner then maybe give them the "big" gift eg engraved bracelet, ear rings etc
