Since when does radical Isalam govern what we can post on the net or print in our newspapers. I got into it with a muslim in another forum threatening me if I posted that stupid pic of Mohamed. Is the net still free? Here's a nice pic to enjoy

They ain't gonna give you permission - you need to make sure they know if they try it with ya they will DIE.

 

They complain about a cartoon that shows mohammed and islam as being violent
by being violent, pretty much proveing the point of the cartoon in the first place.

its kinda funny if you think about it, not sure what the current death toll is I know priests and random danes have been shot .

we have the pakistani medical association boycotting medicine from any country that may have had a paper that would publish that cartoon, until they get a apology .
this includes germany and switzerland two of the top drug producing countrys .
so loads of people are going to die there.

you also now have talk of a oil boycott from some top islamic clerics until they get a apology ,the whole thing is mighty surreal

 

Let's put it this way - they're not concerned about proving the cartoonist's point.

If you draw Mohammed, especially in a disrespectful way, according to their "religion" you are to die by being hacked to bits.

shias have drawings of mohammed, one of the iranian papers that is making such a terrible fuss over the cartoons and is organising a holocaust cartoon competition has links off its website to murals of mohammed .

Ive seen shia pictures of mohammed for years , but for some reason these ones have set things off .

 

they want to enforce what you think about him, the whole things a power trip, if you wrote books that said he was crap they would try to kill you .

islam doesnt mean peace it means submission thats what they want from you

this is theo van gogh he got ritually killed on a dutch street for making a film about the abuse of women in islam , and there are people who would kill you for showing that mohammed picture .

Stabbing someone in the back is a lowly, curlike act. Just like, say, terrorism or blowing up a bomb in the midst of children. Oh well. That's who we're dealing with.

 

Some of you guys seem to be expressng the belief that all followers of Islam are necessarily violent and bigoted. Just on a personal note, I don't believe that this is the right view to adopt.

While it is true that there are many Muslims in the world right now who will choose to practice violence and intolerance, I'm certain that there are many who would choose quite the opposite.

But where the issue regarding freedom of speech on the internet is concerned, my belief is that anyone should indeed feel free to say what they wish. If somebody else finds it offensive, they don't necessarily have to read it or agree with it.

Y'know that the whole "iconoclasm" debate has been going on a long time, and that christianity ain't exactly a peaceful religion by any stretch of the imagination (or any other religion, except for the fake neopagans).

I t'ink we tend to simplify the issue, but really, it's very complex (god smote the Israelites cause they built a calf as a symbol of god to worship, and god don't play that way). Just because we have 1500 years of Iconography doesn't mean that the rest of the world accepts it.

As for freedom of speech and freedom of religion, i don't think that you can have either one, they come in a package.
And, oh yeah, You hippies protest, sometimes violently, when something stupid pisses you off (stupid in their eyes, like globalization). Yet you act sooooo surprised when other culture does it.

 

My munitions won't be expended on those Folks for that reason then......I can't draw.

if you look at the details of the beliefs of people who we are told are moderate most of them dont seem that moderate to me .

if moderates are three men in a telephone box would it really matter that they existed, if you wanted to be able to critise religion without being killed .

in the rushdie affair and now you dont see that many muslims defending the right to publish, as I remember with rushdie there was one guy in belgium and he got murdered for being a apostate .

you need to ask muslims some hard questions like do they believe in sheria law in the future

 

Protesting the war or the WTO or whatever doesn't quite go as far as the burning of buildings and killing of people. And I promise never to protest a cartoon. I'll write a scathing letter if need be, but nobody will die.

 

free muslims had a demo against terrorism they got less than 50 people

they plan on having a demo in london that will have a 100,000 people against cartoons,
this ones supposed to be peaceful and they will vet the placards so you shouldnt see ones like get ready for the real holocaust or ones calling for beheading.

but you will get the political effect and the more muslims you have the more things they will find to protest about , as just breathing if your a kafir is offensive to their religion.
