I don't know why this isn't getting any media coverage. The public really needs to be alerted about the possibility of "in-flight" bomb building. Please read the link below and let others know to be watchful of suspicious people during any flight. This is extremely disturbing: http://www.womenswallstreet.com/WWS/article_landing.aspx?titleid=1&articleid=711
kc, does this sound strange to you? After I read this, I almost got sick thinking of 9/11 again. If you read the whole thing, it just sounds absolutely insane the way those men were acting. Even the flight attendants thought so!
i heard they were a musical band of some sort. i think they were doing it specifically to fuck with whitey's mind.
The European news agencies have actually alerted the public about the possibility of groups of terrorists building a bomb in-flight, in the bathroom. Why isn't our media alerting us?? Most likely because any negative news that could possibly hurt the airline industry, would damage our fragile economy, so they don't want to scare us. I say it's better to know what the terrorists are planning so we can stop it before it happens in-flight. Why didn't someone get up and check out the lavatory??? Because the public has not been alerted of the possiblities of this occurring.
Interesting. It's a touchy subject what with racial profiling and all, but in some cases I think we might want to reconsider. Like the author of that article said, it's just not possible to uphold everyone civil liberties and at the same time protect them from terrorists. Hypothetically speaking, they could have all had one piece of a bomb, and over the course of the four hours they all could have added their piece. I see no reason why that plane couldn't have been blown up in midair.
Yup, and it's on all the radio talk shows I listen to. But I think the best answer as to why they don't want it out of the bag so to speak is America has this problem with panic. Here is an interesting site that can get you worried in a heart beat. http://www.homelandsecurityus.net/
I agree wholeheartedly. Whether you're a liberal or conservative, I think we can all agree that our safety should be a number one priority, and not whether we are profiling too many Arab passengers on a particular flight.
i'd rather uphold civil liberties. the last thing i want for this country is to have our rights FURTHER trampled on in the name of more security. how terrifying!
If there was a choice between profiling and questioning a group of Arabs carrying strange looking bags and whispering to each other or just letting them "go about their business", I would hope individuals like this would be questioned more thoroughly. My rights are being "trampled on" when the airline industry does not thoroughly screen people who fit a particular profile, in this case, a group of Arab men acting very strangely, and as a result my flight is blown up in mid-air.
If this were something as simple as cops pulling over black people for smoking pot on the highway I would agree with you, but this is much bigger. In this case, the lives of thousands of people are at risk. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that well over 90% of plane hijackers have been Arab muslims. When you get a statistic that high (as opposed to, say, only 65% of pot smokers on a highway being black), then I believe that racial profiling can and should be used.
iot's all fun and games until you're the one being dragged aside every single time you go for a flight. my husband gets it all the time just because he's dark and has a beard.
I would never say "it's all fun and games". This is a serious isue, and reguardles if you think racial profiling is wrong, at times like this, it is neccessary.
people never realize how serious it is until they're the ones being pulled aside and harassed because they fit some racial profile. my ex-boyfriend was Indian, his mother was telling me that he has hell going anywhere and can hardly get out of the country for work. my husband is a very dark white man with a beard. anytime he want's to fly, he has to show up 2 hours early so that every article on him can be thoroughly searched before he misses his flight. you think pulling innocent black men over is bad, why can't you accept that this is bad, too? i'm sure those cops thought they had something when they started profiling low-income black men, too.
Actualy, I do understand. I live in a hispanic neighborhood. I am a young white male and I shave my head and I have a gotee. From just my looks and my size I come off as some Arian Nation White Supremest driving around in a hispanic area. I get pulled over a lot. I understand what they are doing. I accept what they are doing. I would prefer them to pull over every person that fits that profile tha nnot and wate for something to happen. Besides, your husband could always shave his beard. Oh, and everyone has to go to the airport 2-4 hours early.
Maybe if they made it like a casino game, and the people could place bets on what stuff the Arab guy has in his pockets and bags as he's publicly searched.
RealAmerican, so... you think it's best that anyone who fits an unpopular stereotype should be pulled over and messed with? What you accept and believe is necessary is a system that borders on fascism.
