~~Drug Bust~~

Being arrested so they can hold you cause they're not sure if you committed a crime in the area or not is COMMON. It does not even remotely hold that you committed the aforementioned crime. If charges were never filed, it means that the arrest was bullshit.

As for my friend, well, hey - that's his life and his life choices. All I'm saying is - he wanted to return to the USA to work in IT and was denied this.

You never know WHAT is gonna come up and nail you later on in life. You just don't.

 

This is all so heavy, all u get over hear is a slap on the wrist most o the time. We’ve been caught with it at school and collage and the police weren’t even involved most of the time, and even if they are involved nothing that much happens unless you got like a few ounces on u and they think your gunna deal, and a knife with a little bit o coke on it wouldn’t even factor into the equation. Things are a lot tougher over with u guys.



Maybe where I live in the UK is the exception to the rule I don’t know, but I can’t remember 1 single person doing any time over weed or even getting anything more than a caution or final warning.

Here, it's different.

Children have been expelled under "zero tolerance" weapons rules for bringing in a butter knife with their lunches to butter biscuits to use with their cheese. (Totally worthless as weapons, but "a knife is a knife")

Also, children have been expelled for possessing Aspro's (if that's what you call aspirin over there) because of a "zero tolerance" rule for drugs. One girl loaned another a Midol for cramps and was expelled for "dealing drugs".

Mind you, over here, they're ultra weird about stuff. Drugs especially.

If you've been done for drugs, you can't get loans to go to college. This is what the OP was concerned about. Likewise, even to push a trolley around the USian version of Tesco's you need to be piss tested and prove you don't do drugs.

Fortunately things differ from place to place. US weed laws are not created equal by a long shot.

Here in NC, a bit of herb and a pipe are about the same as two traffic tickets. I try to avoid places like Arkansas where a roach in your ashtray can get you a year in jail.

ok guys listen, baggies were in trunk unrelated to weed. they were fucking huge ziplock bags for storage. i DO NOT do coke! i do not sell coke, i dont want nothing to do with coke. the knife? the knife isnt even ming. why would i have a knife? for protection? nah.. i dont have the balls to stab someone. for coke? nah i dont do coke. it has coke residue on it, its obviously not ming. the weed though.. oh its ming, the flask is even ming, i keep it in trunk cause well why not? i dont want my mom finding it. i had no idea i was gonna get caught. i diddnt know the weed was onmeall i do is smoke some pot, and barely even drink on weekends sometimes ( on special occasions), but id prefer smoking pot over alcohol anyday. if they arrest me im just gonna kill myself, so then the governemnt can be like " hey we just made this kid kill himself because we fucked up his life" all because he had a tiny sack of weed on him at school... make them feel bogus.( just kidding about the suicide)

to irongoth- id tottally give up a long life, w/ grandchildren and stuff, even having my own kids. id for sure die young for a cause like mr. king did. if i was really passionate for somthing, id probbly die for it like mel gibson in braveheart.

aww got a question for you guys though. what if i said that i used marijuana as a religious sacrament? kind of like how indians can legally use peyote ( a psychodelic cacti ) which helps enlighten them spiritually. this might sound stupid with marijuana, but how can they deny religion to someone in a " free" country.

Thikning about tryign some LSD and maybe having a good trip, and becoming a munk or somthing. hah that would be somthing.

oh and i met my drug counselor today.. hes like maybe in 50's-60's he looks like a straight up psychologist u see in movies. he had a shakespeare book sitting on hsi desk when i walked in... anyways he straight out said " im not sure if your an addict but im gonna find out" i started to giggle, not on purpose though i coudlnt control it. i really try not to disrespect anyone, its just that how can i be addicetd to marijuana? maybe he was thinking about the coke knife? i only met w/ him for 15 min cause it was just an introduction thing, not an actual meeting. im just gonna try and let him get to know me, and realise im not a drug addict, just a kid who was born in the wrong generation.

not much else going on, i could use some advice on what to say in court, who schould i bring? do i plead guilty and accept responsibility for the coke knife, maybe making them think im responsible and drop the charges. or do i deny and say none of it was ming. or do i say the weed and pipe was ming man. didnt know i had knife in car, and the flask ive been keeping that in my trunk for the past 2 months. and see if they believe me.. i could really use some advice on what im gonna tell the judge... like id really appreciate it cause ive nvr been arrested before, and i have no clue how the system works, cept thatur guilty untill proven innocent.

probbly the best thing that could happent o me would be community service over anything, for 1 reason its self satisfying to me when im helping out the community. 2nd reason i dont gotta spend money.. haha. hmm actually its funny i wanted to do community service anyways before i got arrested. but yah i just hope they dont send me off to jail.. i couldnt survive in jail.. in no way am i a tuff guy, haha. even if u pushed me around id try and walk away.. and wouldnt hitu back.. so yah id become a bitch in jail.. lol

anyways have a good night guys, its 2 am and i wanna get some reading done then go to sleep. i started the electric kool-aid acid test today. so far its a good read, only on page 15 though.

Think that the cops will read it that way? The prosecutor? You want surrealism, you try dealing with the court system. My brother was charged with basically strongarm robbery because he DIDN'T beat up and rob some other kid to return property he stole to another guy. As in, he's guilty of strongarm robbery for NOT strongarm robbing someone else.

Cops won't feel sorry for you, part of the process of hiring them is to weed out people with empathy... and if that doesn't work going to a few domestic violence calls will rapidly burn that out of ya. First of all Jared, it's not your religion, don't go there. You got popped for being a doper, and you should be more worried about getting a real lawyer than coming up with strange rationalisations that will NEVER work in a court of law.

Psychologically, Jared. If you're smoking before school, constantly got weed on ya, looking to smuggle weed through an airport, etc. you have a problem.

It wasn't legal in the 60s either, and be that as it may it doesn't absolve you from following the law. I am NOT a lawyer, but find out double quick if anything you say in that session can and will be used against you in a court of law. From a reputable lawyer.

A COMPETENT LAWYER

If you plead guilty, they don't drop the charges, you've just pled guilty to the aforesaid charges and go to jail for the aforementioned felonies you just pled guilty to.

Well, I do hope you get to choose, then. Do you really think the judge will let you pick from an assortment of sentences? Actually, the only time they do that is to suggest that if you enlist and go to Iraq they'll not send you to prison.

He is also right, that the best place for you to get info on what to say and do in court is from a lawyer. Won't or can't your parents spring for one? Can you tell them you'll pay them back? I am sure they want you to go to college, without having to pay full price. Jared, please, get a lawyer. Have your parents look into Legal Aid Societies if money is a problem. A Public Defender is not the way to go, if you can help it in any way.

 

about $1500 - $3000 for a good lawyer in orange county, florida. CHEAP AS HELL compared to probation, fines, jail time, violation of probation, more fines, more jail time, restriction on travel, loss of work, etc.

don't just pick a lawyer from the phone book either. since yer a youngster, you probably don't know a lot of people that's gone through this already but yer best bet is to get a referral. if'n you can't figure out which one ya wanna use, go check em out in action at the courthouse (stay away from your judge). the lawyer i bought for my ex was amazingly popular, son of one of the judges, and quite the cutie to boot. came in real handy when he sweet talked the da from a 36 month sentance down to 90 days. that was like 12 years ago.

the last lawyer i had to buy was a waste of money though - after i saw that da, i knew i shoulda just got a gigalo to make her happy the night before court! what a gruesome, unhappy troll of a woman...

wtf? Jerry's dead, and so is hendrix but wtf does that have to do with your court case? You don't have to look up to anyone, you have to get a good lawyer and beat the charges. Get your mind right bro, sounds like you're a little burnt. Stop asking what you need to bring to court to a bunch of people on forums, and go get a good lawyer. Plead guilty? wtf? Dude how thick is your skull, you get a good lawyer, and you will get off with a slap on the wrist WITHOUT pleading guilty. Best case scenario is it gets thrown out on motions. Second best is it gets continued without a findin and you have probation for year.

how many fuckin times are people gonna say to you, GET A GOOD LAWYER. STFU WITH THE LEGAL QUESTIONS ON HIPFORUMS, GO GET A GOOD LAWYER WHO IS WELL-VERSED IN DRUG CASES IN YOUR AREA.

 

first off getting a lawyer that will need to be paid isnt gonna happen... trust me guys even if my mom payed for it, id have to pay her back. which i cant do, and i know id HAVE to pay her back. so there will be no lawyer representing me. why not get a public defender? maybe ill jsut show up by myself, and be like " im sorry, i learned my lesson and it will never happen again"

 

Man, I definitely wouldnt recommend representing yourself unless you realllly know what you are doing. Is there anyone you can borrow money from and get another job to pay them back? The cocaine is pretty serious shit. Have they charged you yet?
