The book Are you my mother was my favorite story as a child. My father would make the crane noises "VROOM" and I loved that. I recommend this book to any parents out there, its short, easy for a kid to read, and has a great plot.

I remember I used to sit in my grandma’s lap while she read me that book. She read it so much she had it memorized. I wish I would of kept my copy now.

This along with "But No Elephants" were my favorites when I was a young'un. And I still skim through them when I go home once in a while.

we've got that book for our kids. they are older now (15,13 and 10), but they always loved it. i dont think they would let me give it away now, even if they dont read it. ....for sentimental reasons... haha, so cute :)

i was obsessed with this story as a kid. I still have all my childhood books, which are all actually my much much older brothers and sisters hand-me-downs. It's very easy to replace your childhood collection these days, just hop into a thrift shop...especially big ones like Value Village/Savers. They'll only cost between 10-99 cents.
