Overgrow Shut Down For Good

what i dont get is why now they decide to shut it down. its been up for a number of years...i find it kind of hard to believe that they had no idea this website existed untill recently. its a damn shame, fuckin pigs...

For me, 10 years ago was quite recent.

High Times has been sold in the U.S. since '75.
(P.S. when High Times first came out, and for many years, it was about all illegal drugs, from pot to heroin.)

Anyway, I fear this may be the start of The Crackdown, our (U.S. & Canada's) all-out effort to wipe pot smoking (and pot smokers) off the face of the earth.
Or maybe they just intend to shut down people's personal grows, to re-establish U.S. gov't control over the pot market.

In addition to a huge increase of somebody trying to get into p.c's of OG members, recently customs has been seizing lots more overseas seed orders.

 

Well this is a really disappointing bust for everyone so lets just hope it works out for the best. Should make my grow attempt a little tougher but thats not the only source of info on the net tho.

 

Exactly rangerdanger, I guess if you are 17-18 it seems like awhile ago, but for others, it's not that much in the past.

Im not trying to bash Canada just pointing out everyone thinks it's the biggest beacon of freedom on the planet, but it wasn't even like that until recently. And now with the emery busts and og getting shut down, its obvious canada is going back against its tolerance for marijuana.

But many people have said before it will only get worse before it gets better, maybe this is just it getting bad before something good actually happens for once? maybe? Maybe not.

 

I'm not sure but I am hoping that they can't hold the OG data forever, because they only need seed orders really (if that's what the bust was about), all the info on OG was public, even the US if backing isn't going to outlaw information. IDK i'm real bummed out, the world just digresses into shit more and more everyday.

Yea really, it's like LEO has been enforcing laws about this garbage for so long, that they don't even stop to think about how stupid it all is. How many LEO's do you think have even read the propaganda first used to urge people to be against cannabis... but then again, most LEO's are fascist piece of shit racists, so maybe they agree with Anslinger.

 

This just really bums me out too. Its almost like I have nothing to say anymore.

I already posted this in the sub-forum, but it has been confirmed by other more reliable sources (something awful forums..sub forum the crackhead clubhouse, if anyone posts there you should know that their goal is harm-reduction and stopping the spread of misinformation) Richard Boucher is NOT RC.
There has been no REAL confirmation of overgrow's shutdown and RC's arrest by the canadian government. It's still a possibility at this point, but this could very easily be an attempt by ICMag to pick up on some of overgrow's seed bank business. There hasn't been ANY confirmation by REAL news sources and that doesn't make any sense. I've heard rumours saying that the news has been hushed by the government because they are collecting a databse of IPs, but that doesn't make any sense either. The website is refusing HTTP connections, they would have left the site up to allow people to incriminate themselves further now that they have access to the private messages. Also, tracert's show the server is still up and the IP has been changing, not too sure what to make of that though.
Personally, My theory is that RC either got sick of the website or caught wind of a large investigation/possible bust, packed up shop, and quitely disappeared.

Don't assume overgrow is gone for good (although there's a strong chance it is) just hope for the best at this point.

Also, I'm not too up to date on canadian politics, but it's my understanding a highly conservative group just took over in canada and one of their campaign goals was an increased focus on drugs, mainly pot. Hopefully this wasn't their first arrest.... I'm pretty sure no amendments or anything were broken because RC also owned a seedbank and I'm pretty sure that selling marijuana seeds is illegal (once again, I don't know much about Canada so take that with a grain of salt)

 

Tainted, you are correct about the new conservative Canadian government. These new guys blame marijuana for basically every problem out there. One guy I believe got enraged at a crowd chearing for the pro-pot candidate running against him, so he stood up, pointed his finger around the room, and screamed that they were the reason there is so much street crime. He basicly blamed pot smokers for murder.

The exact reverse is true, really. HIS bullshit drives up the price of marijuana, so HIS bullshit is the reason people kill to sell it. If it was legal and bought for 20$ a pack at the gas station, who would put a bullet in someone for territory to sell it in? Honestly all this ignorence is starting to piss me off...
