Have any of you used Frontline for cats and it not worked? Supposedly from what I've heard from my vet and read on the internet it is the best out there. But this is the 2nd month my cat has been on it and I still see fleas and eggs. Mind you, not as many as before....but still...enough. I dont really know what else to do.....I have tried getting him flea dipped which didnt work at all. What else is there?
Btw....he stays mostly outside. Maybe I am just seeing fleas that have just recently jumped on him and havent had a chance to die yet? Possible? This is my last day (for a long while) with regular access to a computer, so any quick replys would be appreciated.
What type of frontline product are you using? A few years back my dog and my mates dog were infested with flea's (due to really warm weather) I bought everything on the market, sprays, powders, shampoo's, carpet cleaner etc and everytime a few days would pass and they would be back with a vengence! I asked my work for some frontline because they used it to treat 250 cats so i figured it would be very good. I used the bottled spray and followed the directions of applying it to the pets and leaving it to dry before letting them groom themselves or get water on the fur. You need to leave it to dry for an hour. After the first day i bathed the dog to remove the dead flea eggs and ticks and it was two years before my dog got fleas again. The frontline recomends re-aplication after 3 months but it wasn't even needed. Frontline kills fleas when they bite your pet because the spray coats your animals skin and poisons the flea's when they feed. It takes about a day for the infestation to die off and up to 5 days for ticks to die off but i always recomend frontline as nothing else is as strong or long lasting. It also a good idea to wash any soft furnishings or spray any you cant wash as fleas can survive for a while on these as well. Check your following the instructions on how much spray to use for your pets size and concentrate on the neck and lower back areas as these are fleas prefared places to nest and feed. Good luck hope it helps!
